In my 54 years of involvment in the church, I have made a study of church leadership through research and observation. I have been in leadership myself, in Christian Ministry and in Business and I have taught management principles.

Most of the problems in a church is usually due to having the ministry focused on one person. Apart from that being unscriptual, the church too often is there as a vehicle for this person's ministry rather than this person's ministry being there to produce other ministries.

When you have a one man paid pastor lording it over, you will have that replicated in the congregation. My research and observation has shown that in nearly every church like this there is a "jezebel"" who is usually a strong woman who wants to control people.

This is not surprising becäuse most churches operate on the basis of "power over"rather than as a "servant to". If you want to know which one is yours, do a simple test. Does the pastor/CEO sit at the top table and expect to be waited on, or does he wait on everyone and doesn't sit until everyone has their meal. The servant leader will always do the second.

The "jezebel" will usually be close to the leadership (she will try and control it) and will demand that her decsion is sufficient for eveyone to do as she says. It sounds as though you have one in your music leader.

For her own good and that of the church she must be resisted because it won't stop there. The men in leadership must tell her that they are happy with the situation and if that changes they will let her know.

When a church gets into things like "contracts" it ceases to be a church: it becomes a religious organisation which Jesus came to do away with. Once you become a religious organisation, you very slowly replace the word of God with tradition, and the day comes when tradition becomes the word of God. When that happens, you might as well shut up shop as your effectiveness will be zero.

there is a way of dressing that is indeed inappropriate.
when I can see one of my 7th graders pac man underwear because her skirt is way too mini, that is inappropriate. wearing short sleeves in an unA/C church to sing praise & worship songs? that is expected.

this woman has a weight problem

has someone told the choir director to loose weight?
if it is a problem, why is she directing choir?
