Thanks Karlie! The goal right now is to get my perpetual student of a husband through school!

Well, I'm in the process of changing careers 'cause I'm 33 and I'm just now figuring out what i want to do with my life.

I got my degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology, have been working in accounting the past 9 years and am now pursuing a new career in law enforcement.

What can I say? I'm interested in a wide variety of things and I get bored...

Well, I started with computer information systems.. never graduated as I was no longer motivated and there was a family problem. Currently I work as a flight attendant, love it and I'm considering to get a degree in Travel & Tourism after I get back from my holiday. With my work, I can't attend classes, so will have to do it online. Am considering doing it through IATA. I enjoy the world of travel and I want something for the day I get married, start a family and put my wings down to be there for my family.

Accounting. I have a math degree, but accounting would've been more... marketable.

Ah, yes. How does on combine a passion to study something interesting and world-changing, with a need to generate income? A guy I know got an MS in Corporate and Professional Communication, but literally "wrote the book" (completed a credible master's thesis) about the "social maturity of home school children." The degree was a career-booster. The thesis is still being cited 16 years later. A win-win solution.

I also wouldn't mind being a chocolate importer.

Its a funny thing. I have thought about what I would have done if I had pursued different ideas at many points over time. Currently I am a software engineer/software architect/computer programmer or whatever its called in marketing materials at the moment.

At times over the years I would think about being a genetics researcher, archeologist, geologist, doctor, surgeon, soldier, architect, or even own a restaurant. Or better yet, simply be independently wealthy

But in the end, I come right back around to doing essentially what I do now: make computers do interesting things through software. I have been doing this professionally for 21 years in a huge variety of roles and with a huge variety of technology. And since it was essentially divine intervention that I landed in this career field to begin with, I tend to think its the right one.

But I would like to do something a little more meaningful in my field right now. That is why I would like to be writing software for medical equipment. Having seen so much medical technology over the years of visiting family in hospitals, I think it would be uber-cool to know you are doing something that actually helps someone or possibly even save their life.
