Now Mvic, I wish I had a good joke but I don't. Oh, here is one, there was a pastor who was very humble served his congregation for many years. The congregation wanted to honor him for all the years of his hard work so they gave him a plaque. He humbly hung it up on the wall, but the congregation took it back instead.

Went to a classical concert recently. At one point there was a solo violinist. The stage was empty and he played the violin whilst walking from side to side on the stage.

Apparently the piece of music he was playing was written for the bagpipes!!!

Groan! (though violinists DO learn how to play while moving around)

LOL, now there is another joke about Norwegians, however it may not be appropriate for this forum though.

Awwww! I'm Norwegian. I want to hear it! (Norwegians love to poke fun at themselves--and at the neighbouring Swedes.) I have tons of Ole and Lena jokes (with some of Lars and Sven thrown in).

Um Maggie, I told you the joke once before. All I will say is that it has to do with swimming and the breast stroke.

I know a joke about a Norwegian swimming.

He came first in a race and they pinned a medal on his chest. He was most annoyed as he hadn't got dressed at the time.

By the way ... just noticed something.

Maggie's post is dated 31 August at 12.41.59 AM

Mine is timed 8.42.13 AM - i.e. BEFORE Maggie.

I'm in the UK, Maggie is in Canada. I'm confused.

If the world is going round from left to right - i.e. I am before the US and Canada. Then my 8.42 am must mean that the US and Canada are still asleep at about 2.42 am on the 31st August and not after me at 12.41 am (Maggie's post).

Anyone intelligent out there can explain this?

Unless of course the world is now turning from right to left and no one told me about it.

Vic, the date and time stamps I have for those two posts are:

Maggie: Aug. 30, 11:41 p.m.
Vic: August 31, 7:42 a.m.

Check the dates again. Perhaps you misread? Either that or your part of the UK is spinning in a different direction than Canada.

Wow ... that is confusing.

Your post No. 84 is definitly 8/31/2008 12:41:59 AM. That's Sunday early in the morning - in fact it should be 00:41:59 AM if we want to be accurate. But it's shown as 12:41:59 AM Did you post it Saturday 11:41 in the evening?

My post No. 85 is shown as 8/31/2008 8:42:13 AM. That's Sunday morning presumably where the computer server is situated. Because I posted it at about midday UK time.

Your post No. 87 is 8/31/2008 3:08:09 PM. Sunday afternoon. Can you remember what time you posted it Canada time.

By the way - it is now 8:40 PM UK time. What time does it show on my post No. 88?

Just checked - my post No 88 is 3:41:25 PM and it is now 8:41 PM UK time.

I keep the time and date stamps to local time so what I see when I open the thread shows the Manitoba times posts were written. It's not quite 3:00 p.m. here as I write this. Post 87 was written at 2:08 p.m. Sunday, local time. Post 84 was written 11:41 p.m. Saturday evening, local time. The times you're showing are the local times for CW headquarters, which are in the time zone immediately to my east and therefore an hour later than we are here.

12:41 a.m. would only be 00:41 if one was using the 24 hour clock, which CW isn't, so 12:41 a.m. is correct.

Your post 88 shows as being posted at 2:41 p.m. on Sunday--which means you are six hours ahead of Manitoba. That fits, because Germany is 7 hours ahead.

Still confused?

I think it's a bit clearer now.

Although I'm a bit confused whether it is me writing these posts or someone else in a parallel universe.

Just looked in the mirror. Looks like me. Probably is me.

What do you think?

Welcome (Kerrlaw) to the thread of Damocles.

The only thread in these Forums where nonsense reigns supreme. There's far too much common sense in this world; and look at the mess we made of it !!!
You obviously haven't been to Kerr's thread; or mine, for that matter.

Hi WhiteRoseBlessings,

Welcome to Damocles'

Sorry I didn't visit your thread or Kerrlaw's. I will do so right away.

So many threads ... and so little time to visit them all. And all the other jobs I have to do for which I have neither the time nor the inclination ...

Thread-visitings are optional; never mandatory . . . at least in my world anyway.
Well, at least with that ramblin' thread that bears my name.

Oh, and you can call me by my handle, my name (Sharon-Marie) or its variant (SharMar).

I was looking for the 'sword' of Damocles and wondered whether it would be held over my head.
Hello Folks,
New to the forum and looking around. Would someone like to give me a brief account of the action on the thread.

Thanks.

Hello FirstWitness,

Welcome to the Forum and welcome to this thread.

This thread has no action whatsoever. Just nonsense. So when you wish to relax reading and contributing some nonsense join right in.

Plenty of other good threads around. Some serious some not so. Just look around and enjoy.

This is a great Christian Forum. Tell all your friends about it.

God bless.

Hi Mvic.

Thanks for the welcome.

Large forum and I am enjoying looking around at present.
The Lion's den made me giggle a little. There is many times in life I feel I have walked right in.
Enjoy your evening.

Definitely someone in a parallel universe. You, yourself, could never be confused about time.

Hi Sharon-Marie and FirstWitness! Good to see you here!
