I noticed that. And since this isn't technically a chat thread, I'm safe here. Kinda.

Only certain posters I am friends with are allowed to call me terms of endearment like "honey", "dear", "little lady", "girl", etc because I know they are doing it to tease me (as a friend) since that's a pet peeve of mine. And since I like being a brat myself, it's works...
Yes, honey Phosy...

You think you're safe here?

I'm Pam or Pammy or even Pamela. My former handle was PamelaSue. I answer to any of those.

I'm trying to pay attention here. CdL, I've been calling you something that I see you don't want (wasn't in your list), so I won't do it anymore. And phosadaud, no worries, I won't be calling you phosy anymore.

I'm Maggie. I don't mind Magdaleine but it sounds very formal. Some call me Maggs and I like that but when I go into chat I get very confused when the gal with "Maggs" handle is in the same room as me because I keep thinking it's me people are talking to when really it's her. A few people have found interesting variants for nicknames. Most of them have been fun to be called.

Sharon-Marie, how do you pronounce SharMar in your head? I've always thought shar to rhyme with mar, but wondered if you think share, short for sharon.

People call me Kuku for a reason... I do try to remain slightly 'unfindable' here, so I don't prefer my real name, though I will usually respond...

The handle is garsyt - My name is Garsy. I've seen Gars, Gar, and even Gary- none of which I prefer. Gary is my dad, and I will likely not respond to it. And I've already got 4 kids and many of their friends that call me Mom so PLEASE not here. Garsy rhymes with Darcy or Marcy. The name is unusual and original - just the way my parents wanted it to be! Like Tigger - as far as I know "I'm the only one!"

Blessings,

Garsy

LOL Good question, Kath.

I think I was on the phone with Karlie (a couple of years ago?) when she was relaying something to me and she said something along the lines of, "and then I thought, Oh Shar-Mar!" She pronounced "Shar" to rhyme with "Mar".

It was the first time I had ever heard my nickname verbally pronounced.

And it really threw me for a curve!

All that time prior, I had, in my head, been pronouncing it as Sha (soft "a" and the "r" being silent) Mar . . . kinda like "ShaMar"

But you, Christi and Karlie all pronounce it as "Shar" rhyming with "Mar" . . . so y'all must be right.

That was interesting!

Garsy, all this time, I thought "Garsy" was your last name.

I pronounced it like ya'll too until I heard her Shar-Mar call herself Sha-mar at a GT. I picked it up, and now don't 'pronounce' the first r anymore (not that l say that name out loud LOL)

Well, at least some of us keep the same handle so we're easier to find.

I kinda like being known as and called BugLady. It's makes me feel like a character in a children's book. Hey! Now there's an idea.

Mac is strictly a forums nickname. It has nothing to do with Micky D's Big Mac or Kraft's Easy Mac.

I don't like the idea of my actual name floating around the internet. That's primarily because of the previous negative experiences I've had being harassed by really mean people. You know the kind. The kind that would go to the trouble of hacking into your computer and stalking you online and then spreading false information about you just to mess you up for awhile. They probably look like this -------> If they'd had their way, I'd look like this --------> BUT God is good, and I mostly look like this ----->

Sorry - had to do it. Welcome to the forums!

Shar-Mar - I pronounce your nickname as "Share Mare" in my head.

As for me, y'all can call me ta_mosquito, TA, mosquito, or Tricia. Just don't call me Pest. (Well, you can, but I probably won't know you're addressing me.)
