Yeah. I didn't really have attitude at age 11. My bratty side came out in 9th grade, hahaha. Thank God that's over with.

Thanks to all I do enjoy being single. I have told some that ask why I was single" My frist wife died before she was born" Some get it and some just say I'm sorry...

In the past 20 years, only 3 or 4 people have ever asked me why I'm single or did I want to be single. I deeply appreciated their concern for my personal feelings. Mainly I feel completely invisible.

What's wrong with being single? Not one single thing! Why is being single considered to be wrong. I read a bumper sticker the other day that had me smiling, it said:
Get Married - Why? I haven't done anything wrong!
No one has really asked me in those specific words. The problem here is that the world is definitely couple oriented. Everything we see around us leads us to believe that being a couple is ok, but being single is not. I don't think it's intentional, but that's just the way it is - shows on tv portray happiness as being one of two; amusement park rides are built to seat 2 people; there are a lot of activities that can only be enjoyed as a twosome. So a lot of folks think that coupling up is the way to go. Some people get married because of who they are currently dating, when they believe that time is running out on them.
I think what we need to get out of our minds is the association: single = wrong. Nothing's wrong with it! And the next time someone asks you why you're not yet married, don't look guilty while you give a sheepish reply. Instead you can very proudly quote the bumper sticker
"What! Why? I haven't done anything wrong?" Which is a good answer to a foolish question.
P.S. There are very good single models out there. In the Bible as well as out of it - Jesus being #1.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being single, so I don't answer it as though they've asked me a wrong question. Often times, people are just curious, or concerned. So, I give an honest answers at times, and some humous ones at other times. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in. But I never answer it defensively, because, I know it's not meant as an attack or a put down when people ask why I'm still single. It's when they add the "I should" statements to my situation, implying that I'm somehow flawed, then, I get so darn sarcastic about it.

I tell people I'm still single, but it's not really my choice. I would love to date, to marry, to have kids, but it's just not in the cards right now. I tell them that I date infrequently, I attend a small church, and I am in grad school. It all takes up much of my life, so I try to make myself happy with what I've got and make the most of being single.
And I try to do all of those things that my friends can't do because they have spouse and child obligations.
