I am so blasted tired of the media painting the Obama's as the return of Camelot. Does this mean that Barry will a skirt-chaser as was JFK?

Skeptical of what? Michelle's commitment to her kids? Why are you so convinced that she is a bad mother?
I wouldn't envy her. Trying to raise children in that kind of fish bowl environment can't be easy.

It's because we don't KNOW her, Todd. Haven't you been paying attention? People KNOW Cindy McCain, even though she's a beer barroness and former drug addict. Apparently, that's a new rule I wasn't aware of till now: That if you don't KNOW someone, or claim you don't KNOW them, that gives one the authorization to make any kind of assumptions one wants about them. But if you KNOW somebody, or claim you KNOW them, like people claim they KNOW John and Cindy McCain, they're not held to the same standards as someone you don't KNOW, like Barack and Michelle Obama.
Everybody KNOWS that.

Those poor, abused girls should be in foster care, and taken from their terrible parents ASAP.

I'm not an Obama fan at all, but it's refreshing to see someone in the public spotlight with good priorities. The kids are adoreable, and I think it's fantastic that she thinks her first priority is to raise them.

No one is suggesting that the Obamas are bad parents. Sheesh...where'd you get that???
MY point was/is that I'm somewhat skeptical when she tries to put forth an image of just wanting to be "Mom-in-Chief". I'm not buying that and don't see that in her. I think she's playing the crowd just a bit.
Face it...Obama rocketed to "stardom" very, very quickly. I'm sure his wife had a lot to do with that. I believe she's just as eager to be in the White House as he is. And I don't think she'll be spending her time there baking cookies for her daughters' classes!

- America has 50 states.
- America is a good country. It is not mean.
- "Typical white people" do not have a fear of black people.
- Children with asthma do not need a "breathalyser."
- It is not good to swear from the pulpit or anywhere else.

Now how would anyone here feel if they or their MOTHER was being picked apart in a public forum, by self-professing Christians who in MY OPINION are not acting very Christ like at the moment? And to make matters even worse - the mom that is being picked apart isn't even here to defend herself. And why should she? So she wants to put her kids first. Normally this would be something that most Christians would praise! Of course if Mrs. McCain were to come out and say the VERY SAME THING - we'd find the vast majority of Christians lining up to pat her on the back, and of course, by virtue of being a Republican, would believe her without question or a skeptical roll of the eyes.
I don't envy ANYONE that is in the position Michelle Obama is in. It's not going to be easy to raise children in that sort of glass house environment where a person's EVERY move is up for public ridicule or praise.
I don't presume to know without a doubt whether or not the Obama's are Christians - and I don't think it right for anyone else to do the same. AS we all know - One can claim Christ and God will say in the last days that he never knew them. What we can do is pray for that family, and maybe show a little grace and compassion and understanding.
It's not like the McCain's are absolutely blemish free either.
Okay - I'm up way to late! After all I do have MOM duties to attend to in the morning!

The one thing that never ceases to amaze me in any political season is that regardless of how you slice it, people get so emotionally involved in their "person" that they are able to dream up some negative to almost anything about the opposition AND concurrently overlook the failings of their own candidate.
If Michelle Obama is an opportunist, I wonder what we call the entire Bush dynasty which appears to be solely geared toward the end of putting a member (and member) of their family in the Oval Office? Yup, shame on her for using her domestic prowess to her family's political advantage-it's almost like she downloaded recipes off the Internet and posted them on her website as her original home-cooking.

I agree. But a little transparancy would be refreshing. Yes, we all have our "pet" causes but be honest about it. For instance, if it were Laura Bush and her cause is literacy, I'd love to see the following dialogue:
Reporter: "Mrs. Bush...how do you want the world to know you as a First Lady?"
Mrs. Bush: "I'd like to make a difference in advancing literacy. I'll be spending a lot of time working towards that."
I mean, be honest! A First Lady wields a lot of power and influence. Why can they not be honest enough to say, "I want to use that influence to make a difference in the area of __________?"

The only folks that would even consider this as factual are the B. Hussein Obama kool-Aid drinkers.
Yesterday seh brings the daughters on stage during a political rally? Was that before or after she read them a bed time Pollyanna story and made them home-made cookies?
The poor children need to be left out of this mess, and Mrs. B. Hussein Obama should be home ironing pajamas ond reading bed time stories to the children; rather than treating the children as some kind of vote gathering ploy.
