Hey! I found a cool nonsensical thread!!!!

Right now I have an Andy Rooney book that I have been flipping through when I need a good dose of nonsense. It's called COMMON NONSENSE. Gotta love that!

Today I discovered a government document with this word:

SECRETCY

So there you go. A new word for us all.

And to think that I am paying for the salary of the person who wrote that. Along with the person who reviewed the form and approved it. And let's not forget the person who set it up for printing a million copies.

Is there a shocked blinking eyes smiley somewhere?

And another thing ... why do you call it CW?

On my computer it is called CrossDaily.

Well, gee, if we're going to get technical, it's really FaithCommunityNetwork, and those things are just "portals".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love the nonsense! Bring it on! Without the relief of nonsense in life, we'd go bonkers! (Reminds me of the philosophy of M*A*S*H.)
True, however when it comes to links and such, Fritz usually links things to Crosswalk instead.
For the sake of confusing us? Perhaps to keep it out of the way of accidents, if we are using our right hands so much.....
So why do most birds have the blessing of flight while a few are doomed to walk and run?
Is that enough nonsense?
I have wondered why birds fly away all at the very same time?
Right hand for some of us. Many Messianics wear our wedding bands on our right hand, on the pointer-finger, because it is our "Torah finger."
Do you do that? And why is it the "Torah Finger?"
I'm curious about that too. And if you don't want to take this thread off topic (if that's possible), feel free to PM it to me.
And thank you!
Oh, no biggie!
When we are called to Torah (to go up, or aliyah, and read before the congregation), traditionally, it is read by following the Hebrew writings using the pointer finger of the right hand.
However, we don't do this, because most Torahs are very old and therefore very fragile. They should not really be touched with our hands, because our bodies have many chemicals in them that break down the skins the Torah is written upon. Instead, we use something called a "Yad" (rhymes with sod). A yad is a tiny golden hand, with its own pointer-finger sticking out, on a long gold handle. This yad is used to point to and follow the Torah writings. (That's one of the reasons, anyway! )
Oh, yeah! And yes, I wear my wedding band on my right pointer-finger.
. . . because I'm Messianic, I guess. It's just a tradition. I used to aliyah to Torah, although I haven't for a few years now because I get very nervous reading Hebrew, but I still wear my ring there because that's our tradition.
the sermon today was on how the number one cause of divorce in America is financial struggle
Statistically true! I think that the underlying main cause of divorce is simple selfishness that plays itself out mainly in financial problems but also in other actions.
Well, I can hear that my husband's church service is almost over, so I will be getting off the computer soon. I am starved. He always takes me out on Sunday for lunch. I think I want Mexican, although Mexican is pretty tough when one has an allergy to milk products!
