Ok, I'll add a little more... DH and I have been married for about 2.5 years(holy smokes!) and are totally enjoying life although we do have the usual ups and downs. DH is a "financial planner/advisor" working with a rather exclusive group of clients. The firm he works for is small, he is only the 5th employee and so far it's been fantastic! It is the first time in our marriage that he has had a regular schedule. For the first 6 months or so of our marriage he was an active duty Marine, and then he worked at Walgreen's as a manager. First he worked the day shift, and then when I got pregnant he switched to a night shift(7 on/7 off) and for awhile he was even working a day job(at his current) firm on his days off from Walgreen's. We are involved with a wonderful Vineyard church where we both work on the welcome team, and DH also does security. We also volunteered on two separate grass roots campaigns, one of which is over(we lost by 5%) and one of which will be ongoing until November. We are conservative in our views, leaning a bit more towards Libertarian then Republican but with an understanding that this country will never become Libertarian, lol. Oh, and I don't like ice cream either.

Tracy, thanks for sharing your story? Without getting too in depth, what is Libertarian?

I'm on a health kick right now too. That sounds temporary; maybe I should say: I'm revamping my lifestyle. Trying to do away with unnatural things and sticking with naturals. No preservatives and such. No junk during hte week. ON the weekends I allow myself baked goodies that I make. I do allow myself an occassional drink on the weekends. I'm a conservative in the moral issues, more liberal in the political issues. I'm probably more conservative than liberal though. The man I'm marrying is a former Marine and conservative to the max. I want a baby someday. But am in too much debt right now to think about when. I'm currently looking for a second job, but it's difficult when nobody calls back for an interview.

Without getting too in depth, what is Libertarian? Depends who you ask, really. To be the most correct, I should use a small "l" when saying libertarian. Basically we believe in less government regulation, that the only real regulations in place should be for personal safety and rights and not to control the movement of the people. We believe in small government, not large(which is currently what the US/Canada and most other countries have). It can basically be summed up in this quote- quote:
"Thomas Jefferson stated, "Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others." Jefferson also said "No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him." These concepts are otherwise known as the law of equal liberty or the non-aggression principle."

I voted 21-30. I'll be turning 30 in November, actually. I have six kids, ages 11, 10, 9, 7, 5, and 4 next week. I'm a second generation homeschooler, and I've been a pastor's wife for about six months now. We've been married 11 years. I'm a SAHM.

I am 36 yo, single white female, 5'8" tall, red hair (with blonde highlights when I can afford them), greyish blue eyes made crystal blue by colored contacts. Body type:improving My singleness is in a sense not by choice, and in a sense by choice. I didn't want to be single at this age, but I did have a chance to marry young, but I did not care for the young man the way he did for me, and I wasn't going to marry someone just so I wouldn't be single. Many here already know this, but, for my job I take care of my handicapped sister. She is 28 yo, but at a 4 month level. She has cerebal palsy, down syndrome, and brain damaged at birth. My care includes feeding her, bathing her, entertaining her, making sure she has a clean diaper, brushing her teeth, keeping her nails cut, doing her laundry. I also am the one that mainly keeps up with keeping the kitchen clean(I live at home). HERE is a prior job history. I would have graduated college in '97, but did not due to a severe case of lyme disease. I am mostly recovered but still deal with things like chronic fatigue and having painful arthritis in every joint all the time. This illness also rendered me unable to drive for 10 years. I wear a head covering for church services, but at no other time. I am type A when it comes to organizing things, and the fact I feel a need to iron every item of clothing that I wear(with the exception of jeans, sweaters and underwear). However, when it comes to money and time management, and schoolwork, I am about as haphazard and procastinating as they come. I'm also a person who likes things neat and clean, but also gets messy a lot. I'm working hard on getting in good shape, but I am not there yet. I am the 2nd of 4 girls, 1st and 3rd are both married, the 1st for many years now, and the 3rd about 2 years now. I am a doting aunt to two (I will leave their genders/ages out for privacy's sake), and thanks to my younger sister, am now "expecting" another niece or nephew in October. My dad is retired Navy chaplain who now pastors a church. My mom was mostly a SAHM, but she worked at times to help pay christian school tuition. HERE is all the places we've lived. I recently traded rooms with my sister, and went through a real purge getting rid of stuff. I have a beautiful brass and white bed, and the primary color scheme is ivory and white. I have more to do. I grew up in a christian home, and I am thankful for my Godly upbringing. There was a little TOO much of the "Spare the rod, spoil the child," mentality, but that's been lovingly repented of . I still do desire to marry and have children, but am thinking due to my age and other health problems, I will probably go the adoption route rather than the TTC route. I love my sister very much, but I honestly don't want to go through that again with my own child. I want to be a stay at home wife and/or mom. Yes, I want to stay home even before or with no kids. I do NOT get bored at home, healthwise I think it will be necessary, and I would do a lot at church. That's why one of my requirements for a husband is financial stability. I figure by my age a healthy male should have his act together professionally. As far as my virtues, I am loyal, kind, will do anything for anybody to a fault, I love kids. As far as my flaws I've got a temper, am too easily wounded, and hold on to a hurt for too long. I also realize I struggle with the sin of gossip/slander, and I'm praying to overcome that. For hobbies, I enjoy cooking, needlework, miniatures(dollhouse), reading, traveling when possible, and I love to swim(real water baby), and I love love love the ocean. I try to be faithful working out at my gym too, although due to recent crazy schedules around here, and then getting a cold, that's been slow lately, so I hope that picks up soon. I am also a passionate figure skating fan. I am a product of christian, public, and home schooling, so I can't really be used as a good or bad advertisement for any type of schooling. My school history is HERE. I meant to add this: My stance on birth control: It's a private issue between each married couple and doesn't really need to be discussed publicly.

LOL; I don't know, but in my mind it sounded condescending . . . even though I knew that's not how I meant it. Sharon-Marie

I'm 34, been married to the love of my life for 13.5 years. We have three kids, ages 9, 7, and 4. I am a SAHM and have been since I was pregnant with my oldest. I have an Associate's Degree in Accounting, and worked as a bookkeeper until I became a SAHM. Love being a SAHM, though off an on we have a very hard time financially. Right now is one of the 'on' times. But like I always tell hubby, I'd far rather be "struggling" with him than "comfortable" with anyone else. Hubby is in his ~!~ FINAL ~!~ year of college (after being in college in one form or another for pretty much our entire marriage) and will graduate next May with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. There will be a party to celebrate the event, everyone in the world is invited because I will be SO.GLAD.WHEN.HE.IS.DONE. Um, what else? Oh yeah, church. Raised Baptist, have been attending a non-denominational church that we love since we got married. Right now it's just the kids and me who attend because hubby works the weekend shift. He surprised me on Mother's Day by showing up for church (in a suit!) carrying a huge bouquet of flowers. I guess that's about it. I do love ice cream when I'm in the mood for it. Prefer it with something in it (like cookies 'n cream, banana split, etc) but like a good vanilla too.

Wow, I love all the stories! Tracy, that is awesome your hubby came to Christ. I just wrote the short story, not very exciting. So, my longer story....After I turned 18 I moved from CA to OR with my BF at the time. We were together two years before breaking up. I decided to stay in Oregon since the cost of living is better, so I lived alone for a little while and worked for a yellow page company. I met my husband on Craigslist and after corresponding for a few weeks we decided to meet at a bar in October 2004. We had a good time and hit it off right away. Three months later I became pregnant with Timmy my almost 3 year old. So, Robert proposed to me in my bathroom standing next to a pregnancy test. LOL. We got married when I was 5 months pregnant in May 2005 to "do the right thing." I didn't want to be a single mom like my mom and have her same struggles. We had a real rough start but it's getting better. After having Timmy I returned to work as security guard. It was a cool job, but night shift hoovered. Robert got a better paying job, and I started staying at home in July 2006. We became pregnant again when Timmy was a year old, Jimmy was also a surprise. I had been depressed this whole time until something about pregnancy hormones kicked me into gear. I finally started feeling better. After we had Jimmy, I expected to get depressed again, but I didn't. I've been down a little here and there, but for the most part I am better. I also got more sleep this time around. We started out living in the ghetto-est part of Portland, then moved to Tigard into some projects that were a little better. Then we moved to Newberg to a nicer area, but still in a trashy apartment. We just moved to the nice side of Newberg into a duplex with a backyard and front yard and a washer and dryer. It keeps getting better. I love staying at home with my kids, but recently we ran into some debt, and I need to find a part time job to help with that. Hoping to work as grocery store security (since I still have my license) or in the child care area at the store or as a bagger/cart returner. But, I'll take anything I can get with the hours I want. Edited to add: Robert was raised without religion although his mom was sorta Baptist I guess, but not really. I was raised Catholic sorta kinda. Robert isn't saved yet, but we are attending a non-denominational church by HIS request. Woohoo!
