Hello everybody! I know I haven't posted in my thread in ages , but I had no profound thoughts as of late . It's funny, though, I am always looking for updates in OTHER people's threads . Silly me . My sister had a cold today , so my mom stayed home from morning church, and I stayed home from night church. We gave her dimetapp . Actually, she really doesn't mind the taste, but I wanted to use that smiley . Poor thing, she does not have much of an appetite when she is sick . As a christian , I am so thankful to get to go to church and hear God's word and sing his praises , and pray together . The Sunday School lesson was very good this morning..in a nutshell, much of it is how christians come from many denominations, economic situations, tribes and nations . The sermon was good too, as it was about not showing partiality...the text used was the one on if the rich man comes to your church don't treat him better than the poor man..etc. I don't have the reference off the top of my head at the moment. And, while it wasn't the jist of the whole sermon, my dad, through this text also touched on the snobbery issue. I was thankful for that, as that is a characteristic I really despise . Thankfully our church is a group of people that tend to not be snobby AT ALL, but it never hurts to be reminded. My mom cooked a delicious Sunday dinner (she always does), and we had company. We had a noodle/chicken /sauce dish, salad, garlic bread, and strawberries, with ice cream and cookies and coffee for dessert. For drinks with the meal, everyone else picked water or ice tea, but I had milk. I have never grown out of liking milk with my meals..I like dairy.. , perhaps a little too much , but hey, I live right in a town that has many a dairy surrounding it, so it makes sense, right? I called my friend A tonight, because she normally wants to talk at least once a day, but she wasn't up to it, as she was in a brain fog. She has schizophrenia, and so she gets in those sometimes. She lives with many challenges day in and day out. It is hard to have a mental disablity. Yesterday, I sat down and wrote out some goals for myself, including a better schedule of when I get up, when I get to bed, and what I do during the day. I'm going to try to be on the computer a little less, and also not get mad at the computer when the connection gets all wacky. I also sat down and wrote some goals for healthier eating, eating less, and being more faithful at the gym. I am also going to try and straighten my room each night and make my bed each morning, and I gave myself a different weekly chore for each day of the week. I also want to get back to being more faithful about a DAILY quiet time, like I used to be, and to have a thankful, happy spirit. Sometimes I worry and fret so much I look like this: I will pray for God's help. When we were kids, we were allowed little to no TV (which was a good thing -probably why I love reading so much). However, one show that we did enjoy watching together was The Muppet Show ..so those aren't exactly the muppets, but close enough. Just pretend the lipstick girl is Miss Piggy, and the long haired dude is in the band, the frog is Kermit, etc. I think the main movies I ever saw in theatres as a kid were the Muppet Movies and the Star Wars trilogies. That reminds me, that when it was out, I did see Pirates of the Carribean in the theaters, but I really didn't like it. I found it a little too creepy. Plus, pirates really were very bad people.. Do we have any animal lovers here? I love animals a lot, but as I'm in my parents' house, I'm not really at liberty to have a whole lot of pets, although we have goldfish in a pond. We did have a beloved dog a few years back, but after many wonderful years with us, she died about 10 years ago now. Our neighbor put out gopher poison, and sadly, Talitha ate a poisoned gopher to her demise. Then we got a replacement dog who was the biggest crab in the universe, and we were glad when she kicked the bucket. Oooh, Shelley was almost evil Talitha was a dear. When she was dying, she knew it, and when I would walk by, she would look longingly at me to sit with her. I did it 3x, but if I had realized she was going to die, I would have done it 300x. I still regret not sitting with her more times. One time, when I was sitting with her, she put her paw on my arm, like a doggy hug One of the saddest parts of the whole thing is that when we first took her to the vet, he insisted nothing was wrong..then when we took her back again, he admitted that yes, she was poisoned, but by then it was too late to do something about it. So, if he had listend to us the first time, she might have lived. We might get another dog, but cats aren't an option, because my mom is allergic to them. Anyway, regarding animals, sometimes I think when I get my own place that I want lots of pets. The bad part is, though, that I keep having this nightmare that I get all kind of pets, and then the food chain kicks in, and they all eat each other up. If that happened to my pets, I would grieve , and also wonder what I was thinking to get so many kinds. I think with pets, one would need to pick and choose. This reminds me that I haven't been to the zoo in a long time, but I would like to go. Whew, trying to use every smiley is making me tired . I don't know what this smiley is: Our weather is finally turning cold again . I'm glad, because I really like the cooler weather. Do you believe in guardian angels? I do, I think there is actually evidence in Scripture of such. I think they keep us safe a lot, including when we drive. I love reading books out loud to kids , and I think the Cat in the Hat book is funny. Doesn't this smiley look like Stevie Wonder? This venture turned out to be quite challenging. I'm not sure what made me think it was a bright idea. I am still not even done, but I'm getting sleepy. I will have to finish tomorrow. When I do finish, it will be: Hi guys, I'm back again to use off the rest of the smileys. Could this be considered a smiley post. It would have been easier to chill and listen to music , but I am going to consider this post a piece of art. When I was a kid in school, studying Egypt, our class did a play on it.. . I am so happy to almost be done . I don't know what this smiley is for: . Too bad I can't get a crown for this, it sure made me tired. Know what? . I need to graduate from this post soon. Did you know I live in a farming community? And I like flowers.. I bet this post made you But you will love to know it is almost done..you can walk away soon. I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving and Christmas [sm=c ool.gif] Ok, I THINK I used em all..tell me if I missed one.

Thought don't need to be profound, they can just be thoughts...Like...What I did today.

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted in this thread....my room project is ALMOST done, and I am so glad...I just need to put up a border (hopefully of actual lace, curtains, pictures (that I already have), and shelves (that I already have) to display knicknacks (that I already have--what I kept--I got rid of A LOT). I am just SO READY for this project to be DONE. I like decorating, but it can be hard work, too. Especially when a person really only has one room to decorate, and one has a lot of interests/stuff/variety of tastes. What do ya'll do 'bout decorating? Whether you have one room or a mansion, whether you do wallpaper or just white walls and pictures, you are welcome to share. Does anybody else get on these forums when they can't sleep? That is what I'm doing now.
