when I joined back in 05, only soccerguy was on my list. Now that we're married and I have a bit of time to check out the boards, I could add a few other friends and posters I enjoy reading.
Like Dave, I'm not sure what to do with the list. Can you find favorite posters posts more easily?

I use it to see if one of my friends is online. Also, when sending PM"s they will be in your address book so you don't have to type it in.

Yes. When you send a PM from your inbox area, there is a link for "address book" to the right of where you put the subject and who the PM is to. Whoever is on your buddy list appears when you click "address book". Then you just check the box by the name of the person you want to send it to and hit okay.
It's sometimes easier(or just as easy) to click the "PM" link on someone's post. I do that sometimes too. But, if I need to send a PM and am not near a post of theirs, using the address book is the fastest way.
