Noise Under the Floor

Lynn's bathroom is in the back of the house and it's hard to
hear when anyone is on the property.

One morning while getting ready for work, and thinking she was
the only one at home, Lynn kept hearing something crawl around
under her bathroom floor. Thinking that somehow the
neighbor's cat had gotten under the house, Lynn began stomping
the floor hard and shouting at the top of her lungs, "Get out
of there!" and "Stop that!" Finally, the moving stopped so she
finished what she was doing and left for work.

When Lynn returned home that evening, she found a note that the
exterminators had been there for their annual inspection. Lynn
turned to her husband Joe and said, "Honey, do the exterminators
crawl around under the house?"

Joe said, "Sure, why?"

That's when Lynn burst out laughing. It took her several minutes
to tell Joe what she had done. He cracked up at the
thought of her standing in the bathroom stomping and
shouting, and he said, "It's a good thing he didn't answer
you back or you would have keeled over dead!"

Actually Joe would have had something more sarcastic to say but that will do!!!

PTL...doesn't look like Gustav is going to be as bad as they originally predicted...still bad but not as bad.

Yep...looks Like Hanna is still a Tropical Storm and we're right in the bull's eye for Friday landfall.

Bobby, I am sorry for your loss. Your father is now with the Lord you can rejoice in that.

I talked with Pam last night. She was exhausted from all the work she had been doing securing their place for the arrival of the hurricane.

They sent her father home from the hospital to make room for patients from the coast in case they had to evacuate the hospitals down there. She was not happy about that. Plus when her father got home, he began to help with the work.

They bagan to get heavy rains yesterday. I have not heard from her today, but I think she is still busy.

Bobby, we're praying for you and Carol and the family. Sorry for your loss and rejoicing that he IS a Christian and you'll all be together again in Heaven with Jesus.

Guys, I was really touched to read in the other Geezer thread that you've missed me...I missed you too.

I stayed away for a few days for a couple of reasons. For one thing I've been spending all the time I can with my family (especially GB because this change really only affects us...hubby and I see each other the same amount). In the evenings I'm completely exhausted and just go to bed early.

The other reason is that the last few posts I made a few days ago were just so self-centered. They were all focused on my grief and I was and still am so sad about having to make this transition, but I don't want to be a downer in here. How I'm feeling about leaving GB is overwhelming and if I can't help but talk about it, I'd just rather stay away for a few days or until I'm able to cope with it better.

I love you all very much. I know many of you are praying for me and my family...thank you so much for that. Hopefully I'll be less exhausted and less overwhelmed by the whole thing and get back in here regularly soon.

Please believe me when I speak for all your friends on this forum that you didn't bring us down. All of us have been down at times, and we all know how good it feels just to vent. We are all here for you, praying for you, hubby, and GB. We understand why we haven't heard much from you.

You are welcome to cry on our shoulders when you need to, because someday each of us will probably come cry on your shoulder about something. That's what family is for.

Thank you so much. I've been very honored and humbled to have my friends cry on my shoulder and I know you're all here for me as well. I just don't like how I sound with all the negative stuff that I can't help but say about how much I'm in mourning for the way my life used to be. I miss it (GB) with every cell in my body.

It shocked me and embarrassed me to read my posts because it sounds so much like I'm not grateful to God for what He's given me. He gave me a fantastic job and my health and my family and I am thankful, but this grief is real and right now it's consuming.

Thank you for reminding me that we're here for each other. It's much easier for me to be on the giving end than the receiving end most of the time...goofy, I know.

Another real life experience that Gov. Palin has that makes me warm to her....she just announced this morning in response to some nasty negative remarks on the internet that her baby was actually her daughter's that her daughter is in fact 5 months pregnant and is marrying the the father. Another life experience that shows she had dealt with the same things some of us have had to deal with with our own kids...I haven't dealt with that one personally but still you can raise your children up in the way of the Lord but it doesn't keep them from venturing off the right path and making mistakes. I'm sure there will be some folks who will think negatively of her over this but then again...some will find fault regardless.
