Undergrads I hope. Be a shame to waste 4 years of math studies.

I had a friend in college who was an arithmetic major. (or so we teased her). She took hard courses like set theory (proving that 1 +1 =2). The rest of us were mostly engineers. (We kept a couple non-engineer/non-scientist types around for comic relief)

Ok, one more post...

Um, Tink, are you performing cloning experiments on yourself? Because I see seven of you at the top of the Forum!

Shema, interesting Shakespearean tidbit... one of his plays was actually the basis of a classic science fiction movie (which itself is practically the blueprint for the original Star Trek)... Forbidden Planet. It's a futuristic rendition of The Tempest. That's another one I haven't read, but I've been meaning to just to compare it. If you (or anybody) hasn't seen Forbidden Planet, it's well worth the rental. A true classic of the genre.

(It also strikes me as sort of a poetic coming-full-circle that Shakespeare crops up so much in the various incarnations of Star Trek, since he sort of gave birth to Trek's ancestor via The Tempest.)

Well, I see Tink (or one of her clones from last night!) lurking at the top. And Sunshinesoprano. Hi guys!

I was dismayed this morning to find out that our cleaning staff had wiped out half the solar system. Thankfully Earth and the Sun survived.

(We have a scale model in the one long hallway which consists of labels taped to the floor at the relative positions of the planets. The markers for Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune are missing.)
