Oh! Happy Birthday, Sue!

I will be visiting Ellie-Mae on Wednesday.

Things are going fine around here. This is our last night in the hotel before we go stay with bil for five nights. This is the longest I've ever been away from my children. It is very odd.

Happy Birthday, Sue!!!

Cynthia, I didn't even think of the kids. I guess I figured they went with you. I wish I were closer, so I could give your mom a break.

I had to go to to THREE stores today to find a digital timer. That's just ridiculous in this day and age, you know that?

I think my class went well. I did not get quite the participation I was hoping for, and for a few minutes we were derailed by someone who thinks there should be a salary cap (which is one of the things the Bahá'ís believe) but other than that it seemed to be good. Now I need to pick my next religion.

I wish I could run up, expecially since I missed FOT, but I don't think it's gonna happen this week.

Wow, thanks everybody!

I've been sort of ignoring this birthday. In fact, hubby switched with someone and is doing his prison ministry work today. The man called last week and asked to switch because it was his birthday and his family was taking him out. It didn't dawn on either Merv or me until last night that the switch meant that Merv was going to be gone on my birthday. I can't be mad since I didn't think of it either, lol. He took off early Friday and we drove to Pekin to celebrate my mom's birthday. I'm just going to call that my celebration too.

GRRR. DD1 is definately getting more hormonal. I found out last night that the youth retreat will be the weekend of her birthday, in Jan. I thought she would be thrilled to go away with the whole youth group but then come home on her bday. She was so upset and cried all the way home. SHe wanted to invite a friend to sleep over on Sat and wake up at our house on her bday on Sunday. I said that she would be having a sleep over with the whole youth group and thought it would be better. No, that's no good because her sister will be there (she wanted her siblings to sleep at Grandma's that night) and they will spend 2 hrs travelling home in a van/bus on her bday.

Would she be willing to have the sleepover with her friend the weekend before or after her birthday?

I don't know. I never promised her the sleep over and you never know if the kids will be allowed to do it anyway. I am guessing that if they are away one weekend for the retreat their parents won't want them away an adjacent weekend too.

Grandpa died on Monday morning. Dh bought the tickets later that morning. We left the following morning. We paid an arm and a leg for those tickets. It came to within a few dollars of what we had left in our savings account just for the two of us. No way we could get all the kids ready in time. Even if we could, we could not have afforded to buy three more tickets. It was horrible how much it cost us to get out here. The only reason we could stay in a hotel is that dh had points for a free room. Those points are up. We check out in the morning and will be staying with bil.

I wish you could too, but I really understand how hard it is, especially since Ellie-Mae lives quite a long way from you. That would be a very long drive.

Hi again,
My laptop died on Thursday due to my power supply going out... only computer that I had with me, so I have not been able to post in a while.
I am back in Cleveland. Hubby and I are meeting with a pastor from new church for some counseling. It is nice to be back with him, but we have lots of work to do!
Just wanted to say HI! Think I am heading off to bed, long day.

Umm, no, Washington to PA is a very long drive. Ellie's is just a little jaunt. However, my days off seem to be crammed with various doctor's appointments. I'd rather join you at Ellie's.

I'd rather you come see me than go to doctor's appointments too, but alas, such is life.

Timothy was trying out a magic trick involving a transporter when he got stuck in the clothes chute.

Praying that the counseling helps to bring you and your hubby closer together.
