In 1997, William Tager, who was in prison for murdering a beautiful young NBC employee, Campbell Montgomery, just outside the Today show stage, told his psychiatrist that he was the one who attacked Rather.
Seems Mr. Tager thought that the news media were spying on him and beaming messages in his head by radio, and if he found the frequency he could stop them.
No word on whether he ever found the frequency.
