Mark, I'm glad you and your family are well, and powered up again. How is your daughter?

I'm not real sure that the Coot intends to do anything that could be construed as work.

So you are just paying him to drink coffee?

Why do you think he finds it such a marvelous idea?

Exactly.

I am going to change the avatar. If it scares the brave Lion, others must be terrified.

There's the handsome coot I wanna rent!

Good thing you're married, Kerrlaw, otherwise the ladies would be asking for your phone number!

SingLoud, I'm glad you're okay. We had some storm damage and power outtage with a storm once and lost all our perishable food, so we threw it out, despite an elderly relative's protests about "wasting all that perfectly good food that he'd paid for." I'm sure glad he doesn't prepare the meals, otherwise we would be all be in eternity from food poisoning.

My mom was similar to your eldery relative when her freezer died. She wanted to save stuff that already had an aroma. I had to tell I didn't want my inheiritance that way.

I don't need to rent a coot. I already have one. But if the rates are good, I'd be happy to rent him out occasionally.

When we lost power during the ice storm last winter, I immediately gathered up my frozen foods and took them to the church to cook and store them in the freezers there. Didn't lose the big stuff. But when the insurance adjuster was asking about lost food, he threw in some extra $$$ for fridge things like mayo, etc. Thought that was nice of him.

This weekend is the bluegrass & chili festival. It's an interesting crowd, you know? I've seen a lot of old coots and geezers, but also a LOT of young families and teens with funny-dyed hair and lots of piercings. Who knew......

If you see an old coot with funny died hair and piercings, but sure to take pictures and post them for us to see.

What is the difference between a coot and a codger?

Gary, I can't figure out what your avatar is. Could you please explain it?

Notice how I am fixated on avatars now. Thanks Cranky and Kerr!

Where is everyone? Its Friday -- its nearly 7pm, (at least in the East) and there is no one here. Concerts somewhere?

By the way, ArmyDude, did you get my PM?

I just read where Ike has become a "dangerous" Category 4 hurricane and it looks like he's heading for the Gulf!! Oh no -- not another one heading for New Orleans!! Do you think that God is displeased with that Sin City???

LOL!

I know the feeling . . . there's been several days lately that I've had to look at the calendar to see what day of the week it was.

Do you like working nights, Brenda?

Not at all. I'm a morning person (I know, I know... I can't help it, but I like waking up with the sun.... ). But a job is a job.... it pays the bills and I like to eat (too much!).

Larry says the same thing. It's hard when you go to work on Wed and when you get off it's Thursday.

It does mess with a person's mind a bit.

I love mornings.

I'm a night person. I like working in the afternoons, then having the evening to enjoy. Plus being able to sleep late is great!

I'm not a morning person or a night person. I like to sleep. However, I'd much rather stay up really late than get up really early. I really loathe mornings...

Here's one:
