Im 59 yrs old, I was saved back in March of 1996 and went on Mission trips, told people at the store about Jesus and was in church every time the door was opened. But my ex who was a deacon then divorced me after 20 yrs. It was really ugly and ripped all I knew apart in 2001. I was hurt and felt God had abandoned me too so I got mad at God and turned away from Him for yrs and went on a New Age path. Then about 3 different times I tried coming back but always went back to that pagan stuff. Two days ago I felt hopeless and knew the new age was false and it held no hope for me. I asked the Lord to help me know for sure if He still heard me and I got a word from Him. My question is do you think He will still forgive me after I failed Him so many times? Im almost afraid to ask Him but I know without Jesus there is no hope or joy in my life. Im asking this in all sincerity. Thank you. Red59

Hi Red59, Welcome to the Forum. Oh ... if only all the questions in these Forums were that easy. You ask: " ... do you think He will still forgive me after I failed Him so many times?" The answer is "YES". He forgives you, He loves you, and has always loved you. Even when you turned your back on Him. One of my favourite little sayings is: I asked Jesus how much He loves me. He said this much. Then He stretched out his arms and died for me. God bless you.

Ephesians 1:7 "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" We all fail, and we all fail all the time. But God never fails us. He is always and at all times waiting with open arms. It is not about our failures, it is about Christ's success. And His only desire is to share the forgiveness He has provided through His successful sacrifice, with you, so that He can then give His resurrected life to you. Bless you. Peace

Yes! Seventy times seven, He will forgive you, which means figuratively more than you can ever sin. The context means "forever - all of it." Your sin was paid 2000 years ago on the cross, before you ever sinned once. Your sin was all future at that point, so you're part way through the sins you will commit that are already paid for. Jesus didn't do a half-way job of forgiving, but His death paid for all of it, and His rising from the dead proved that it was a done deal (or He would have had to stay dead. But He didn't). Take heart, Red59; God has forgiven you. Let God be proved true and every man a liar, including the lousy one who abandoned you. Crawl up into God's lap and let Him hold you awhile. He is going to personally wipe the tears from your eyes. People fail; God never. (((Hugs)))

Red, hello and welcome to the forum. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, ! 1 John 1:9. The cleansing may take a while because we are in process here as his kids. Our job is to trust, cast our cares on him because he cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7. I think we all ask this question, will He forgive me again, a few times in our life with him. The point is by your question, you would like him to forgive you, the disinterested wouldn't even bat an eyelash or ask. Read Psalm 23 for several days and rest on that, Red. May His presence be known to you.. Say bye-bye to the new age stuff, it's short-term at best don't you think? Praying with and for you.

But you're in good company here. Actually life IS Jesus. There is no other. Dead man walking was not just a movie. Seek Him and He will be found. He will bring the healing to you that you're longing for. Blessings and prayer for your knowing the hope you have in Jesus, LL

Brother he forgave you of your sins Before you were even a Twinkle in your daddy's eye, as an ol' Preacher used to tell me. You were forgiven at Calvary! Keep your head held high and keep on serving him! Grace is a WONDERFUL Thing!

But you will probably need some scripture to use against the spiritual oppositiion who will attack you mind and thinking about everything... "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I believe the enemy deceived you like he did Eve, by telling you lies you believed, you thought God didnt care and had forsaken you. Guess where that idea would come from and you bought it. I know circumstances can make things look a certain way, that is why we cannot look at them but must solely depend on the Word of God, what He says about things. We cannot even trust our 5 senses for information of the spiritual kind. Often your feelings will lie to yuo against the truth of the Word of God.

Just to let you all know I have asked the Lord to forgive me and surrendered my life to Him 100%. Each of you have helped me more than you know with your words and the Lords Scriptures. Just to also let you know it was your loving kindness and non-judgement that helped the most. You are what all Christians should be. Thank you from my heart. May the Lord bless you all with the blessings and love you have shown me.

Hey Red59, Verse for verse, I can't give you the book's names or chapters of the Bible that talk about your post. One's in the OT, that when the Lord calls you by name, and you respond, you are His, and nothing is going to change that. The other is in the NT, and I'm thinking it's Paul's writing- that neither life, nor death, nor suffering, etc. is able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. You tell us you were saved long ago. Salvation is not a you-thing or me-thing, but a God-thing. Based on what those verses say about a God-thing, then not even an ex-husband can do away with what God did for you long before the divorce. You could have felt like God was completely on the other side of the world from you, or that you'd transcended so far away from the self you once knew that there was no way God was around. Those verses suggest you were right there in His loving care the whole time. That divorce sounds like it threw you clear of any comfort zone you had in this world, and you've been on the rebuild since then, but salvation is not even a earth-thing. It sounds to me like you've got an awesome testimony to share with others who have battled with life as you have, and I pray this evening that He bless you and that You be open to how you may share His love with others. In Christ, OneJohn410 quote:

OneJohn410 God bless you for understanding and for saying the Lord will use me. I sure hope so as I would like to help any others that the Lord thinks I can help. May He also bless you for your kindness. God Bless Red quote:

Heb 12:5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him; Heb 12:6 for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives." Heb 12:7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten? Heb 12:8 But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are ****s and not sons. Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? Heb 12:10 For truly they chastened us for a few days according to their own pleasure, but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness. Heb 12:11 Now chastening for the present does not seem to be joyous, but grievous. Nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are exercised by it.

Tracydolls Im not being ugly but God didnt chasten me, my ex had an affair with my 29 yr old daughter (his stepdaughter) then his guilt made him divorce me. God only ever just loved me never would he cause me pain. If I took your posting these scriptures wrong then Im sorry its just I know God had nothing to do with my pain and hurt. God bless Red quote:

Is anything too hard for the Lord? If He forgives me, He will certianly forgive you. The only thing now is, will you forgive yourself and be the person God would have you be in Christ not for your sake but for others sake. Be bold and courgeous and confess your sin before those you have wronged and go on in faith unlimited by your own faults. We may not be perfect but in chirst we want to and our love for Christ drives us on in perfection for in love we are made perfect.
