I am a father of 2 children. If my oldest daughter disobeys me, is she at that moment not my daughter anymore? She remains my daughter, but our fellowship is interrupted. What should she do? She has to confess her sin. At that moment our fellowship is restored. (If we are a child of God, and go our own way, we do interrupt fellowship with our heavenly Father. )
Well two things: What does it mean "to confess"?
Leviticus 5 :5 says that we should mention our sin by it's name.
1John1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Is this not wonderful to know that. We can be sure about what the Lord is saying here.
