I will not be voting for him because I do not agree with him on the issues ...
But as a McCain supporter this is clearly a doctored tape ... his lips do not match the words spoken. We can do without this silliness in a Christian forum guys.

Yes, it's silly, but they do match up. It's hard to tell because of the poor video compression. Stephanopolus' follow up comment confirms the error.

I thought this slip up was going to be the one where he said he was already president, seen that one yet? He slips up more than the 72 year old McCain. Unbelievable. Not ready to lead.
Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt and say it's fatigue from campaining, this was one of his only accomplishments, if he screws campaining up he's a gonner.

I actually saw this being broadcast on ABC this morning. Obama did mess up and clearly uncomfortable once he realized he'd done it (kind like watching him think to himself that soundbite is gonna hurt).
For the record, I am a McCain/Palin supporter and I thought it was a honest slip-up on words. There are those who will jump on him for it and there are those that will not. I take him at his word if he says he's Christian and not Muslim but I still do not agree with his views on the issues.

Yeah, the left has made a cottage industry of carefully editied youtube clips from which they draw absurd conclusions; I don't think we should follow suit.

I'm very disappointed that someone would have taken that short segment out of context for the context makes all the difference in the world.
One on one interviews are very stressful propositions. While both parties appear to be relaxed, I can assure you that the minds of both interviewer and interviewee are wildly racing trying to not only make points; but, make them in sentence structures that allow editing and make good "sound bites". There is a LOT going on in that interview INTERNALLY.
I am one that DOES have questions about Obama's connection with Islam. But, I do NOT see that this was anything more than a slip in sentence structure. Moreover, since Stephanopolos had mentioned the word "Muslim" several times, that was already racing in Obama's mind.
There is nothing here... and, that comes from someone that knows the process of interviewing and that has serious reservations about the reality Obama's Christian faith.
Besides, Obama has much more serious issues facing him in the next few weeks. He may not even be eligible to run for President according to a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania last week. I don't know where where that will take us. But, this one appears to have legs.

Now that was uncalled for. My point is this is going to be used to "make the point" that Obama is secretly Muslim. If he says he's a Christian, I am not going to argue with him, nor make it an issue ... because it is a non issue.
In all honesty I would not have a problem voting someone who was of the Muslim faith if they lined up with all the issues and had the experience to back up their conservative platform. (Just as I do not have a problem with a Mormon or Jewish person ... their religious beliefs are not as important as how they will govern.) But with the Muslim extremist, many are scared of anyone who states they are a Muslim ... and the rumor of Obama's faith is being used as propaganda. I do not agree with almost all of what Obama is calling for issue wise and will not be voting for him. But that does not give me (or anyone else for that matter) the right to promote rumors.

If the lawsuit is bogus, then it should be easy for Obama to refute it by producing official documents that you and I can easily produce... starting with an OFFICIAL copy of the birth certificate and not the document that they have produced in its place.

Don't you hate it when that happens? Why just the other day I accidentally said, 'My rastafarian faith..." And then there was the time, in a very stressful situation, I forgot that I was a Christian and said, "My Hasidic Judaisim faith..." And then there was the time I accidentally got out my prayer rug and pointed it to Mecca. I hate it when that happens.
