By this I mean a sporty little 2 seater ... or do you drive something different?
I drive a four door altima - way more room than I need - but I thought that perhaps I'd be married and have a family by now. Also, I wanted to be able to take people to church. But at the time, I really wanted a Celica (which was sooooo nice --- VROOM VRRRROOOM)!

No, but I did recently buy a new Ford Fusion to downsize from my Chevy Suburban. I used to have 4 kids, a sound system and trap set to haul around...now I have two at home who can't drive, and I needed to get better gas mileage.
I kept the Sub, though, so that when we really are all at home or we want to take people to church or to the lake, we can do that.

Let's see. I think the cars I've owned through out the years can tell a lot of what stage of life I'm in. For some reason, I missed the "van" years because I never had any desire to own own. I did have a sports car when I was in my 20s, then quickly changed to a 4 seater Pontiac the moment my daughter was born. The last two years, I've been doing a lot of road trips, so I bought an SUV which we can live in, lol. It's my mid life crisis vehicle. IT's tough, it's big, and rugged. Perfect for driving through the mountains. I swear, I can live in it for a few months and I'll be just fine as long as there's a bush around. I'm not sure if it's a single's car, but it's definitely not a chick vehicle.

Wow - I'd love to drive some sort of truck, but I'm so short (less than 5 feet tall) that I always have a horrible time just getting into the cab part (it is called a cab right? if so, why is it called a cab?). And if I'm wearing a dress or a skirt ... forgetaboutit! A think a truck, jeep or a mini-suv would probably be more practical for me - although the gas mileage might really suck.

Hey, that's what step rails are for, lol. I'm the same height as you (slightly over 5 feet) and I drive an Xterra. It's not as big as the other SUVs out there, but seeing me come out of it makes people think I'm just a little girl.

Actually, they make them much easier these days. I'm only 5'1 and don't have a problem at all. I wear skirts all the time and don't have a problem. Stepping-up isn't a problem for me at all, even when I'm wearing heels. (LOL! That must be a sight to behold, though...dress, heels, truck!  ) Most people just tell me it looks funny because I'm such a small person getting into such a big truck. Oh, and I'd hoped it would be a guy-magnet, but the only person it's drawn so far was a creep!

YOu and I were thinking the same thing when we bought our vehicle, lol. In retrospect, I should have bought a Harley instead if I wanted a guy magnet, but I doubt I'd be interested in the type of guys that it would attract.

I drive an Altima (but it wasn't my choice to get this car). The lease is up in Feb - I'm getting a PT Cruiser convertible! (yes, 2007 GTers will remember me driving one there.) So, is that a singles car?
Before this vehicle, I had an Acura Integra - and LOVED that car!!! That definitely is a singles car.
I want another Acura, but won't be able to afford it for a while - so I'll take the Cruiser for now.

No because I live in a state that has winter, unfortunately and I don't have the financial means to have a "fun" convertible car and another car. Or else I'd be driving a mustang or something like that. I had an SUV that was a money pit so I know about the Michigan snowstorms.
However now I have a hatchback (formerly known as a station wagon) so it could be used for kids if needed in the future.
Theres also not a lot of room for groceries in a 2 seater convertible. LOL

Miss Giggles - winter is hard for "cool cars" - I agree. The last stationwagon that I saw and really liked was the Subaru Forrester (very very nice!)

I drove my Integra until I killed it at over 260K miles. It was a 5-speed. I will have another Acura - but they are not singles cars any more.

It was a toss up between the Forrester and the Xterra, and the only reason I went with the Xterra was I didn't like the SUbaru dealer. But now, I know I made the right choice. I love this vehicle. The step rail is the thingy you step on to get to your vehicle, lol. On second thought, why don't we just ask the men to explain it for you, lol.
I take the bus halfway to work because I work downtown and parking is so expensive. IT's not bad because our public transportation is great (except for the ocassional murder and beheadings, lol). If I didn't have to drive my daughter to her day care, I'd be taking the bus daily and just using my vehicle on weekends.

I am both frugal and practical.
I drive a 2000 Montana minivan. It is large enough to be comfortable and I can haul anything that needs to be hauled with it. It's great for vacations (even with 4 people we can take ALL our toys and have a blast). And it's paid for!!
The other vehicle is a 1998 Dodge durango which I have specifically for pulling the boat. It's also paid for.
Why buy a new one (which is almost always a bad deal) when these two work for me.
I figure if a woman has a problem with my vehicles she'd have more problems with the rest of me, so I don't worry about car impressions.

True. The most economical car is the car that you already own.
It's different for men because they know about cars. I replaced my vehicle after 10 years because it was spending a lot of time at the garage and it was causing me a fortune plus when you have -40C the whole winter, you can't afford to have a car that breaks down, esp when you have a kid. And not knowing if you're getting the run around from your mechanic isn't fun.

My friend with 8 month old twins drives a Prius -- there's something wrong this picture.

I have to have room in my truck to be able to take my brother and sister with me if I need to, so I drive a little extended cab S-10 pickup. It's okay, although the guys at my church call it "cute", so it doesn't fall under the "guy magnet" category?! 
Bummer!!
