77% Dark Chocolate square is my favorite at home dessert. I try, try, try to avoid sugar around my house, but this is the one thing I buy that has sugar.

For a special occasion, I usually order tiramisu, chocolate cheese cake or bread pudding.

If I'm at a wedding, I skip the bride's cake and go for the chocolate groom's cake. Shame on the bride who doesn't serve a chocolate groom's cake.

Soft serve ice cream. I'm lucky because we have a soft serve ice cream machine in the teacher's lounge at work and about once every 4-6 weeks, our principal makes it for us

LOL, then you would hate weddings here. I have not seen a groom's cake in the last two years I have been helping out at weddings.

I can't say I have a favorite. It depends on my mood. Time of month, and the season. There are just some things I won't eat in the summer. I love ice cream and light desserts in the summer, but when the cold weather hits, I have to have lots of chocolate and cake type things. The one thing I will eat all year long is Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby. Friends introduced me to that a while ago. I love pies and carrot cake. I guess I can't pin it down to just one.

Now see 'dessert' is different to 'sweet treat'. A dessert is something that follows the main course of a meal. A sweet treat can be eaten anytime (though often shouldn't be!).

I agree.

I do love Boodles Orange Fool though. 'Boodles' is a gentlemen's club in London and made this dessert. The recipe (or at least a variation of it) has escaped. Sponge cake in a serving dish and covered with double cream, orange and lemon juice and zest with a little sugar to sweeten and allowed to set for a few hours. The sponge cakes absorb some of the juice from the cream (don't ask how, I don't know) and become really soft and tangy and the cream is flavoured with the juice and zest and is firm. So yummy, so easy to make!

Dark chocolate ~ 70%+, with chilli or orange zest and almonds or lavender.

No Grooms cakes?

It's a worthy tradition... at least this chocolate lover believe it's true.

I've never heard of grooms cakes before.

I confess, I'm not sure I like the idea. Surely the idea of a wedding is for a man and woman to become a couple ~ and within hours of the wedding, they have a bride's cake and a groom's cake....

Hmmm...

Well, when you put it that way!! Maybe we can compromise with a dark chocolate bride's cake?

Now all I need do is find a groom to share it with....

Oh wait, why would I want to do that? Surely it'd be better to do this...

dark chocolate bride's cake

All the more for me that way!

My favorite dessert is plain, New York style CHEESECAKE! Yum yum!!

But my favorite treat is a square of 50-70% dark chocolate, or a scoop french vanilla ice cream with warm cinnamon apples.

My favorite desserts are homemade Chocolate Pecan Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream and Brownie Sundaes with LOTS of whipped cream!

My favorite sweet treats are Snickers candy bars, Deerfield Farms trail mix, (Chocolate & Nut and Glacier Mountain are the best!) and homemade chocolate chip cookies, Oreos or graham crackers dipped in milk.

Oh, I forgot, I like granola bars, one of which I'm eating right now, since reading this thread made me hungry for something sweet.

I have to pick one? Impossible! I have a huge sweet tooth.

I guess my favorite (if I MUST choose) is a homemade chocolate fudge cake I grew up eating. Yummm. Need to make one of those soon.

Creme Brulee. I've only had it one time in my life, and it was the best thing I ever had. I've had creme brulee flavored yogurt and ice cream and stuff, but it's not the same. I'll never forget how it tastes.

Creme Brulee.
You know that was stolen by the French don't ya? It was originally called 'Cambridge (or Trinity) Burnt Cream' and created at Cambridge University... and even the French have admitted to that!

Ooo! What about the "better than sex" cake? It's delicious! I've only ever heard it called that... I wonder if there's a more appropriate name for it, lol.
