ORIGINAL: PrincessButtercup Best TV theme song: Psych. "I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth..." Worst: I agree with Star Trek Enterprise, but also Firefly. Blashpemy! Firefly's theme is awesome! LOL! Firefly was pretty excellent, too. Psych is my favorite. I love how they tell the premise of the show in the theme. Green Acres is really memorable. That's why I swam my first duet tech ever to it. The two of us weren't very good, but the song certainly got the attention of all the folks in the stands and the judges from the opening note!

I want to add "Dallas" and "Magnum PI." Both great 80s tunes.

I forgot about Miami Vice. I also liked the Addam's Family, Hawaii Five-O and the Monkees.

The coolest theme song to me has always been Batman. Other than that, Taxi, the original Saturday Night Live, In the Heat of the Night, Bugs Bunny, Miami Vice, Sesame Street. Mike

Cheers is one of the best. The show was named after a bar and it was about the connections between the various folks at the bar "everyone knows your name".... And this was back in the 1980's, before "connection" and "community" became buzzwords in our culture. Happy Days theme song was a direct reflection of the era it was based on (50's). Hawaii 5-0 theme song is another favorite (instrumental tune). Family Ties had a touching theme song IMO reflecting the love of family regardless of differing views (politcally - conservative son vs liberal parents).

Well, someone's already nominated maybe 350 or so shows, so forgive the repetition(s). Battlestar Galactica Star Trek: The Next Generation This is not easy... TV shows don't feature much of any 'song' any more, IMO. Keep in mind, I haven't cheated and read through all that's gone before. Looney Tunes opening song with all the dancing cartoon characters Probably the songs for shows like Hawaii 5-0 the Love Boat Fantasy Island Dallas any of your soapy operas the $6million dollar man (and the $3million dolloar woman? She didn't need as much 'work' as I recall) the Hulk anything John Williams... the olympic fanfare I guess I'd better research the older threads.
