ORIGINAL: DaveW These are NOT world view issues. At all. That depends on whether one is talking about the "natural" world or the world as representing the totality of what exists.

World view is of necessity the totality of existance. Some assume (a non-biblical world view) the natural world is all that exists. To those who embrace a biblical world view, the physical world is a minority of what exists.

...amenable to quantification? That very question is a symptom of a non biblical world view. Where do you get the idea that "amenable to quantification" has any value whatsoever?

It is dependant on what one considers an acceptable means of quantification. No one has measured the size of outer space, However, that does not mean that there is not something out there beyond the range of our instruments. There are also, in my opinion, things that we do not have the instrumentation to measure. Our lack of the proper tools does not prove that those things do not exist, One can not prove a negative.

We are commanded to labor six days and rest the seventh because God created the universe and all therein in six days. Do you deny that six is a quantity?!

Of course it applies to our space time existance, and we are told how to deal with that here - but my point was in the greater makeup of the universe, does it really have meaning beyond where we live? I am not sure it does.
