I'm guessing, Tracy, by many of the comments you've made on these boards, that you are making this statement without actually listening to or reading anything that comes from Rush himself. I'm guessing that your assertion that he's a hypocrite and a liar is based on what you've heard from others. Those are some pretty strong words to use if you have nothing to back it up with.

Perhaps. Would that opinion have been better directed at his listeners?

I wish you'd made this a "poll" so we could see the results!

I'd put ALL my money on Rush. But I'll be willing to put all my airline and banking stocks on Obama.

I'm not sure how your response relates to my post, but go ahead and rant on about your agenda.

I fail to see how you can call Rush a hypocrite and a liar. Since you were so bold to do so, please post some documented proof of that.

Those that fall for the Obama rock star persona and hear only the promises of another Camelot are those who don't want to face the real world and meet its challenges. They want government to take care of them so that they can go on with the really important things in life, like watching Oprah, soap operas, sports, MTV, or playing video games. IMHO.

but this sounds like what the gov't just did with these bailouts, so the rich can continue to live in 7 houses, buy $500 shoes.

the problem with Rush is he's a hypocrite and a liar.

I've always known Rush to hold people's feet to the fire. However, some can't handle the heat so they resort to classless, tacky and unfounded name-calling.

I don't listen to Rush a lot because I have to work, but I do listen when I can. Therefore, I resent your snide insinuation (in the form of a question) that those of us who do listen to him are idiots, and I expect an apology.

No, Rush's analysis of most matters is over-simplified to the point of turning every issue into a case of us-v-them / right-vs-wrong. By polarizing and overly simplifying issues, he's able to fire up his audience and keep them tuned in - his job is to keep people listening to advertisements, not to provide honest, thoughtful political analysis. One of the reasons that liberal talk radio continually fails is because it's harder for liberals to unify their audience behind overly polarized talking points.

No, besides it being boring, angry, unreasonable, etc. people who tune in probably recognize that since the media echoes what they say, what do they need liberal radio for? Besides, liberals probably spend their time listening to music in their car and why would they opt for radio at home when they got their tvs?
