rgod... I finally found the specifics on the article I referred to. Come to find out it wasn't an NYT article, but rather a Time Magazine article. It appeared in Time on July 20, 1992 and was written by their former Soviet correspondant, Strobe Talbott. If you want to look it up, that should get you to it. Adam

This thread could be put in the prophecy section too, it seems. The indicators seem to point everything as going along as God has planned for history. We Christians will end up slaughtered because we won't worship the anti-Christ. This is what is predicted in Revelation. The AC will manufacture a sort of fake resurrection (Rev. 13.3,4) and the whole world will wonder at him and worship him and refuse to fight against him as he and his cronies assume the role of world leader. His religion will be a combination of an apostate Christianity, animism, and Judaism - it seems to me. In Daniel it talks about the AC rejecting the religion of his fathers and worshiping a god of forces. Profound violence and twisted religion will mark his short and murderous reign on earth. He will also possess certain supernatural powers. The sci-fi TV shows like 'Heroes' (which I like to watch) and other shows and movies like the Harry Potter movies (which I also like) and all the super-hero movies are preparing the world to get into the mindset where people have extraordinary powers. A huge global economic collapse will help pave the way for people to look for a 'savior' type, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the market and global economy over the next couple of years. It is very ironic because Al-Qaeda is so bent on destroying the global and U.S. economy - so much so that they were willing to commit mass murder to try and accomplish that. What they didn't realize is that all they had to do was to sit back and let Americans be themselves. We are plenty capable of destroying the global economy without their help. Galadriel2

ORIGINAL: rgsoundguy I am convinced that because of so many politicians' lax attitude about border security that there is some back room dealings going on preparing the way for some sort of MexAmeriCanada Union. And of course such a thing would make it so much easier for us to enter the One World Government. Scary stuff. Uh... Why is that scary? Mexican economy is even worse than ours. Substandard socialized health care of Canada. Don't want it don't need it. SCARY!
