Well it just passed ... only time will tell what thit means in the ling term .... I believe it is new ground and no one knows for sure .... But ....
I do know that my Redeemer lives and He continues to sit at the Right Hand of the Father ... what a comfort for confusing times.

Maybe it's just temporary or unrelated, but the stock market dropped noticeably just after the news that the House passed the bill came out.
And I recall that it dropped noticeably after they didn't pass it the first time. Wassup with dat?

Probably not related, but who knows. It's been bouncing around a lot this morning after the jobs report. 159 thousand jobs lost last month has people a bit spooked. It's a number that's definitely in recessionary territory.
If you really want to know how the market is looking at this, you need to look at financials and the debt markets - credit default swaps, London Interbank Offered Rates (aka LIBOR), the TED spread, spreads on securitized mortgage product, etc.
I can try to get some of that here this morning for you.

How do I find a list of the Yay's and Nay's? I want to see who crossed over. This is a deciding factor for me in my house vote. Charlie Dent or the Libertarian Candidate?

I'm looking for it myself. I sent my congressmen a round of nasty-grams after the first vote. Now I need to go back and see who I can still vote for.
If I find it, I'll post a link.

I am at a loss. Charlie Dent went back and voted yes this time, and apparently he is running unopposed for district 15 in PA. I think I am going to write in my own name!

I think this is where my comment fits ... I was wondering if the stock market would be plummeting to the point it has to date (closing at 8,579.19 today) if McCain was ahead. Wall Street has a tendency to to watch whose ahead in an election and act accordingly (at least act accordingly to what they think will happen with that individual at the helm). Of course there are so many unknowns and other factors ... I just wonder if that is a small piece of the puzzle.
