Praying for your brother. BTW, a friend of ours married someone from the Phillipines. She became an American citizen and dumped him a very short time later.

I also like liver & onions and brussel sprouts, so maybe I'm just weird.

I told ds we are having liver and onions for supper. He asked if I could cook him some turkey burgers instead...
BTW, praying for your finger.

We live in a weird town to say the least. A lot of people are leaving for the winter. The yachts are getting pulled out of the water and put into drydock. The city is taking the benches that are on the sidewalks all summer and putting them away. Hope they leave a picnic table or two in the park for us locals!!!

Dh saw a lot for sale on the lake. It's 40 feet wide and 300 feet long. Someone put a crawl space on it for a house and is selling it for only $199,000.

Homeschooling- We finally got the books into the house. Looks like we are going to be doing school until August.
RANT I just don't even FEEL like doing homeschool. The option here would be to get Ds up before dawn and get him on the school bus. Not too much of a challenge here, since the bus stops in front of our house anyhow. (We are on the corner.) I only see a problem or two with this. The bus driver drives like a maniac AND the brakes squeak very badly!
We are in town BUT this town has combined schools with one down the road about 6 miles or so. He would have to be riding on a bus on two lane icy roads in the winter time. (BTW, this is the same district that the gs's are in and their bus ended up in a ditch one year. This is the same district that didn't BOTHER to INFORM the parents that their children's bus was in a ditch. The parents didn't know anything until the kids didn't come home and parents called the school!)
OK, I have enough said about school busses, right?

I inherited a bunch of stuff from my Grandma today. They recently moved into a sr apartment complex and my parents went out and brought back some stuff. I'm getting her nice big heavy kitchen table and chairs (so I can return my parents' folding chairs that the kids forgot weren't ours), a nice sewing machine, 2 big cast iron pans: a big, deep frying pan with a high lid and a medium saucepan with lid. Also a dresser for one of my girls that my dad filled up with doilies, hankies, etc that she and her mother had made...and some blankets

I got a nice globe. My parents bought it for them for CHristmas a few years ago. ALso, they had this lamp on their baby grand piano for years that is an elephant carved out of wood. They brought it home. I was excited. That's just one of those things that grandma always had. I'm also going to get my Grandma's cedar chest but that will be anohter trip.

Wow, that's very nice, Zoebob. Dh came back from New York with a bunch of interesting things from his grandparents. They were cleaning out the apartment since Grandpa died and Grandma moved into a care facility. My mother laughed loudly when he pulled a shower head out of the bag. It is interesting what my husband brought home compared to what I might have brought. His mother send some tea cups and saucers for me. I thought that was amazingly considerate that she would think of me. She knows I enjoy tea. That is a vestage of the British heritage in my family.

Zoebob and Cynthia,
You just gave me a great idea. Instead of moving the rest of the furniture, I can just give it to the grandkids now!!!
I actually wouldn't mind getting rid of that 400 pound (it feels that heavy anyhow) table and setting up a card table with folding chairs!
Let's see, heavy stuff I can get rid of: the old sewing machine and case, the thing the tv sits on, the tv, the old fluffy couch, grandpa, both sets of enclyclopedias from the "80's or earlier.

I think it would be awesome just to have a bunch of light (as in I can move it myself) stuff.

It is HOT here today. It's in the 80's! This is October, right??? Please, please, please pray for cooler temps this weekend!

That happened with my kids, too. Also, another time when the police were called because kids kept bringing cologne on the bus and spraying everyone. The bus driver could not get things under control, so the police were called. A bunch of kids just jumped out the back door while the bus was sitting there waiting for the police, and walked home. I don't think they were given any consequences at all. In both cases, the bus never came and I had to call the school and find out what happened. At least one of these times, the bus was over an hour late!

Will do! It was like that here last week. I definitely like the cooler fall temps!

It's supposed to cool off for the weekend up here, His, so hopefully it will blow down your way.

I'm working all night tonight. Anyone want to stay up and keep me awake?

Tomorrow is going to be CRAZY-

We have a performance at the state fair from 3-4pm and again from 5-6pm. The state fair is an hour and 15 minutes THAT WAY <-----

We will be walking round the village of yesteryear doing vignettes, short skits about the wares and likes that would have been found in the colonial period in colonial costume. it is going to be FUN!

after we get through with that we are going to drive an hour and 30 minutes That way----> to pick up Jerry for a 48 hour PASS! then another 1 hour 30 minutes ^^^^ that way to get home. Did ya add that all up folks? that nearly 5 hours driving tomorrow! Thankfully Jerry will be driving that last 1.5 hours. I am CERTAIN i'll be whopped. I will have spent nearly 12 hours driving come saturday!

Well, it looks like we rented our house! We decided to offer if for rent or lease-purchase and I posted it yesterday. I got a call right away, and the couple is in very much the same situation as we are - relocating due to a new job, needing to sell their house, etc.
The wife fell in love with the house from the photos, and the husband looked at the house tonight, and loves it too! So, we are heading down to pack up the rest of our stuff this weekend!
I am so excited and relieved! And am praying that this couple will decide to buy the house at the end of the lease, if not before!
Please keep us in your prayers as we make our trips back and forth to make the move, and that everything goes smoothly (background checks, receiving money for the deposit, rent, etc).

Thanks! I am praying that we are not back in the same position in a year, but it is a great time to rent property (unfortunately, as it is tougher for people to buy!). It may slow down our ability to buy for quite some time, but we have a cute little house in a great location, and it is a nice roof over our heads! And I trust God to take care of us for all the days of my life. So, I will continue to praise Him!
(I don't want to sound all giddy, this has been a tough road. And there have been times that I have wondered where God was, to be honest. But He is growing and changing me in HUGE ways, and I am so glad.
This week my hubby and I met for our third counseling session, and it was so nice to see that He has changed me most of all!)

that's easy......before the word(s) you want to strike through, put an "S" between brackets...[ ]....so it would look like this but without the spaces.... [ s ]
after the word(s) do this code (again without the spaces)... [ / s ]

example of words using strike through

if you hit quote on my post you will see how I did it with that line above.

If you still don't understand, open a reply box and hit the "?" button...it explains code very well.

Cynthia--ds4's adult tooth doesn't show up on x-ray so I'd say it's pretty certain it isn't there. When the baby tooth does come out we will need to do something. Although, if he's like Bagel and he's in his 40's when it comes out, he's on his own!!!

I had a baby tooth that I eventually lost to a cavity. It had no adult tooth under it. I was suppose to have something put in to take the place of the tooth but never did it. My teeth did move around a bit, and now it is to the point that the would not be able to put anything in that place. But, the dentist told me it would be fine and has probably stopped moving by now.

I think she must be a citizen by now. She has lived in the states long enough to be married at least one other time and has a son with that husband (the son is around 12 I think). She also has a daughter by another person and has had a few other men inbetween. I don't say this lightly when I say what I am about to say, but my mom honestly thinks she is a sociopath and that this marriage will be the beginning of the end for her. She will have accomplished what she wants and then when she wants, she will end it. It will be devastating to my brother. I've been talking to him on email and he is in this relationship for the long haul and wants to love her through everything and he forgives all her lying that she has done. My brother has slipped spiritually...although he knows the right "lingo" from growing up in church. It is so sad to see him in this mess and justifying things that the Bible says are flat out wrong that they have done and what is even harder is that he is blind and oblivious to the mess he is in. When authorities are finished with the investigation and everything comes into light.... he will be heart broken.

Our school bus was awful growing up!! It would go in the ditch at least once a year. During nice weather, the kids would do smoke bombs. The bus driver would pull over to let the smoke out and find the culprit... and then the kids would start rocking the bus back and forth.

When Dh drove bus, he got a bus that had helpers, assigned seats, and video cameras on the bus. He was told it was the hardest out of all the routes. He didn't have too many problems, but did have a few. The overall attitude and disrespect of 2 kids was enough for him to quit after several years of putting up with it.

Thanks! I had clicked on the "?" in the quote box, but I did not see the cross out option.
You guys are the best!!

Well, as excited as I am about renting the house, it has been nothing but troubles and more troubles.
Wow! Just when you think that you can breathe a sigh of relief...

Yesterday was a bad day, and today is not going too well either. (Fortunately, it is not about the renters, mostly about my bank!) CALGON, take me away!!!
