Oh, good. Do you happen to know where I put it?

We have an amazon customer service center here. I just applied to work there. I have given up trying to find a decently paying job and am aiming at minimum wage here. As of january, our minimum wage will be nearly 9 bucks an hour anyway. I might even work at McDonald's. This is so depressing.

Nate found it. I thought I knew where it was, and I was right, but it required leaning over and looking under something and I got too dizzy to keep trying. I just used it and we'll see how I feel in a bit.

Nate just said, 'Hey, Mom, if we ever get a frog, can I name it Jeremiah?'

Um...are you expecting it to bring mighty fine wine with it, kid?

If you don't feel better in a bit, call me. I'm at work.

I feel somewhat better. It actually feels like something in my chest may have been loosened up. I can definitely take deeper breaths (through my mouth...my nose is still too stuffy, and I should be irrigating but have been lazy about that lately).

Do you suppose my respiratory system is more prone to problems because of the damage the flu did?

It's not unusual to have reactive airways after a respiratory infection. You might find that the best course of action is to start using your inhaler at the start of a cold, rather than waiting till you can't breathe. Go take a hot, steamy shower. That should decongest you and further open your airways.

Well, I already had a hot, steamy shower, but the only chores I am doing today are dishes and ironing--both with hot, steamy water, lol.

I don't WANT to be extra-sensitive to colds and stuff. It ticks me off! I never got headaches until I got meningitis, and I got over colds pretty quickly until last winter.

I want to be 16 again! Oh, wait...no, I don't.

I don't think you could pay me enough to be 16 again.

I wouldn't be 2 again, either, but there are at least a dozen women trying to be in the parenting folder. I think when Fritz shuts this place down tonight he should just keep certain areas closed for a week or two until people re-potty-train themselves.

Jen - you're making me glad I have been avoiding the parenting folder lately!!

my dd accidentally knocked my nasal pot off the counter a few months ago. I keep forgetting to get a new one! I really need to do that - of course, I only remember when I'm feeling horribly!! Maybe I"ll go order one now!

Well, avoid WO, too, then, because the Parenting folder stuff is merely overflow from Women's.

This morning I said that I had rather work with a bunch of dirty, foul-mouthed men than with 20 women, and I meant it, and they are demonstrating why.

I would go start a half-homeschooling/half-public schooling support thread, only I have a feeling I would count since the PS kid isn't speaking to me right now. I mean, crimony..what's next? Brunette support?

Some days Blondes just don't understand what it's like to have dark hair...and why I don't just take the easy way out and bleach it. Don't they realize even my ARM HAIR is dark? How CAN they flaunt their pale arms at me in those threads?

I stay out of those areas for the most part. I don't need that kind of conflict in my life.

Well I smacked my finger lightly against my computer and just about went through the roof, so I walked down the hall and had somebody look at it. Diagnosis is cellulitis and I got a scrip for keflex, but he also thinks I might have nicked the tendon so he wants me to see a hand specialist.

I have a cold today. I'll be praying for you, Jenn. I have asthma, and as I age, that's how I can tell I need to go check my peak flow meter. Doing a normal activity, like singing or walking up the stairs, will make me short of breath.

See if the inhaler helps?

I think it did, at least somewhat. I can use it again at 6 (it said every four to six hours and it was 2 when I used it).

Jake is here so Joe can give him a hair cut. He claims everything is fine, but he's going to start looking for a job on Monday. I sure hope reality is starting to set in.

It is past time to tie Nate down and cut his hair. I can't believe he STILL has paint in it.

Speaking of Nate, two ladies stopped me in church today to tell me they haven't seen a 12 yo boy who works as well as Nate does and is as happy to learn new things as he is. It warmed my heart.

Sue, you are beautiful.

Neighbors!
In addition to fighting, I think I have told you they have this dog that is always loose. Well, I heard a commotion and looked out and it looked like my neighbor had just finished beating the dog with a belt. I didn't see the beating, just heard him yelling at the dog and thought it sounded like he might be hitting him, and looked out and he was putting his belt back on and the dog was cowering.

I don't know if I should call someone or what.

Joe buzzed all of Jake's hair off. That's what Jake decided he wanted.

I'm so glad they told you that. Confirmation that you're doing a good job!

Awwwww, thanks.

I don't know what you should do about the dog. My inclination would be to take that belt and....... but then they'd put you in jail, so that probably wouldn't be a good idea.

I wouldn't bother, because you didn't actually see anything.

Cynthia's right. You couldn't prove anything. If you see injuries on the dog though, you could still call animal control about that.

Glad Cynthia and Amy liked the link.

The dance and tambourine went well. The person giving the teaching was the pastor of the congregation that meets at that church. From his teaching it seemed like we might be a better fit for that place, but will pray on that one and see.

C drove all the way there and then had to leave due to a sick child. Rabbi's wife came in and told us and said to another woman and myself that we would need to lead the tambourine dance. Guess which person she looked at first-that's right, not me. The other woman does not want to lead.

In fact when we went up to do tambourine she told me to take the front spot, but I told her we were both supposed to be leading. I did not take the front spot because I did not want anyone saying that "I took over." No one else could hear our conversation, and I did not want anyone else to say something about my being in leadership, etc...

I have to be very careful when doing anything with tambourine-I need to be walking on eggshells there.

I went to the praise team practice tonight. I enjoy singing but have taken a LONG stint off due to my short ones needing constant supervision. They have super Kids during services for the under grade 6 crowd... simply because they will not fit in the sanctuary! After being approached by 4 different members of the choir(none of them my 18yo who is also a choir member- she started going the sunday night we joined the church!) I took the short ones in and set them up with the portable DVD player and schoolhouse rock on the whole enchilada set to SPICEY. they did really well til the DVD ended. we practice from 6:30-8:00pm

I had a good time and actually sung first soprano part with trill. She helped me to warm up prior to the practice so I could hit those notes that would normally be a reach chore for me. I was certainly amazed at how much easier it was to climb the staff after the warm ups!

I'm glad you enjoyed the practice Exri. And it is always easier to reach notes once you've warmed up.

I am in the process of reloading my MP3 player. This must be about the 4th-5th time. The first times I did it, I had run out of memory. Got a memory card and every time I used it told me I had a corrupt file somewhere. I only got the message when I tried to use the card-no other time.

I went to the Sandisk forums. Got some suggestions-tried them all numerous times. Still got the same corrupted files message. So I am trying to reload my player one last time using a different converter. If this does not work I will find a player that has more memory at the outset so I won't have to mess with the cards.
