Hi Esther and Deb, thank you for y'all stopping by again!

I've just been trying to catch up in my forums reading. At this rate I do not think that I will ever get caught up though, LOL!

Last night when I got home from work, I fell to sleep on the sofa for about an hour. Then I got up for a little while trying to fix some computer problems which didn't really work at all. Then I went to bed at 10PM, slept for 4 hours, got up at 2AM, played on forums for 3 hours, fell back to sleep. I then woke up at 8AM and have been up ever since. I am ready for yet another nap!

I've just been trying to catch up on forums reading, too! Don't think I'll ever catch up, either!

I often don't sleep well at night if I have a nap in the daytime, so I rarely nap. When I do, it's usually because I fall asleep without planning on it!

Sorry, but I was rooting for the Lakers, not the Celtics, but I did think of you while they were playing and winning. So I didn't mind them winning! Lakers is Michael's (our son's) team. I wrote him a consoling note! He was OK with it though.

Hiya Mike!

So according to my calculations, you should be waking up any time now to post.

Hey Mike, How is your Sunday going? Mine is good.
Can you believe it might rain here again today? We have had a wet Spring and Summer has started out the same.

Hey, Mike, for a while it looked like it might be when autumn leaves were falling before we'd be able to take you out to a belated birthday lunch, but there is hope Deb's chair may be brought back into good working order sooner rather than later.

We'll keep in touch and hope it won't be too much longer before we get together with you.

Have a great day.

Groom52;

I'm not familiar with you or your wife...I hang out in the single's section mostly. I'd like to ask a question, though: do the numbers after your screennames refer to your ages?

Besiderself, the numbers beside our names are the ages we were when we got married. I was 52 and my bride, Deb, was 48. It was the first marriage for both of us, which is a little unusual but less so for those who use wheelchairs. Wheelchair users aren't supposed to be interested in such things as marriage.

This August we celebrate our 6th anniversary, and they've been 6 great years. Soo...if you remain single for longer than you expect...don't give up hope that the "right one" might come along.

Where did Deb and I meet? Online!

Mind you, I'd clearly explained to God that I wanted to meet a godly Christian woman in the greater Boston area, which is where I live. So what did God do? He introuced me to Deb, online. Where did she live at the time? Would you believe...the San Francisco area?

She visited the Boston area 3 times and went home with an engagement ring on her finger after that 3rd visit. A year later we were married.

When we got married, I was 48 and John was 52. We've both been in wheelchairs since childhood; I was born with Cerebral Palsy, and he contracted Polio at age 6. We met online in 1998, when I was still living in California, and I moved to Boston in August 2002--three weeks before our wedding. If you'd like to get to know us, my PFY thread is Here Comes the Bride.

We live in a town south of Boston, so we've only seen Mike face-to-face once. Hopefully we'll see him soon!

Thanks for the background, Deb and John! It is encouraging to hear stories like this. I've been widowed for 9+ years, I'm 48, and I hate being single...so I like to encourage myself with stories of people who waited on God a long time...

Congratulations.

So sorry you lost your husband so early. And yes, being single is no fun.

Or is it? While I'd still rather be married, I was much more active in ministry and socially than I am now. I was so fixated on wishing I was married that I didn't appreciate how much fun I was having. I miss those days sometimes!

There ARE advantages, and I try to concentrate on them. After all, there's every chance that God's will is for me to be single. Best to enjoy every moment I can. Doesn't change the fact that I hate being single...I just try to concentrate on the good.

Hi Joy, I am still trying to catch up here. I actually have about 2 weeks worth of reading to do now. Maybe I will have to unsub to some instead, but we'll see.

Also, no offense on you rooting for the Lakers at all either.

Hiya John & Deb!, okey dokie, hopefully Deb's chair will be fixed real soon!

Hi Esther, I still owe you those links. It actually made national news at both ends. Here are the links:

James Dobson accuses Obama of `distorting' Bible

Obama dismisses Dobson criticism about Bible

Now there might be a discussion about this going on in Current Events, however I haven't gotten that far yet.

Well, I need to call it a night. I hope that everyone rests well and hope to catch y'all tomorrow!

Sweet Dreams,

Mike

Thanks for the links, Mike. I never stick my head in CE...too skeery and flame ridden for me, but the articles were informative.

Your welcome Esther, btw, it is in the Election Central subfolder. We will see how this all pans out in the election in just about 5 months from now.

Hi Sam, I hope you are staying cool out there in the sunbelt!

Hi, Mike.

I thought for sure today the paperwork for Deb's chair would be finally finished. But, alas, as of this morning it wasn't. The doctor doesn't know what exactly the wheelchair people want. I gave the doctor the name and phone number to call to hopefully straighten it out. I'll call again Monday to see if any progress was made.

But surely...sometime in the next week or two...the chair will be repaired and we can schedule our lunch together.

Have a great day and weekend, Mike.
