So what do you think was the best CD released in calendar year 2008? Alternately, which CD from 2008 was your favorite? Best is so subjective anyway. Currently the two I would pick are: The Gaslight Anthem: "The '59 Sound" Opeth: "Watershed" Those would be my choices for CD of the year, a cross between best and favorite. Of course I would have had to have heard every CD released in 2008 to begin to consider the question of "best". BTW: Don't confuse this with the favorite CD bought this year thread. This is limited to 2008 releases only whereas that thread could include anything someone bought. I did provide the same answer for that thread.

The best released and my favorite is Audio Adrenaline's Greatest Hits. Yeah, it's just re-packaged music but it's sooo good to see them back in the stores!!! But, besides that it would probably be Sanctus Real's We Need Each Other.

Released in '08 - Phil Keaggy's Master & Musician 30th anniversary. The dvd from the tour is nothing short of amazing.

"Dichotomy" by Becoming The Archetype It surprised me too, because I thought it would be your "average death metal" but... it was so much better!
