How do I answer that??? Should I make you 10 years older on account of your intelligence, or 10 years younger on account of your looks?

Thanks, I think. On one hand, I seem intelligent beyond my years. OTOH, it seems that I need to look 10 younger.

I'll fish out the compliment and count the rest as the wrapping....

There was a time when 59 was OLD. Not so much any more.

30 something? I have hunting socks older than that.

Not really. That's what a guy at church told me when I was 34. Don't know why.

It really bubbles my undies when you hear more about the "strategy" or "casting vision" at church than you actually here solid teaching from the Word of God. It seems that the Word is something they use just to support the "vision" or "strategy" that they think is what the church needs.

YES! I gave him five stars, wishing it could be more. Dude, I love it when people preach the word!!!!!!!!!

But this is THE WHINERS THREAD for crying out loud.

So...git er done!

Nah... it comes to easily to me. Should I really undo fifteen years' worth of training myself not to whine?

Okay. Here's a not-mean one. I don't like it when I want to hug people and (a) it isn't appropriate, or (b) they don't like it.

And... I sure wish I could be a missionary.

There was a woman at our church who got up frequently, arguably to say

Let Us Pray

but she ran the words together and it always sounded like

Lettuce spray

Both my wife and I thought this. It was so hard to keep from laughing each week about the vegetable washing. Our shoulders would shake in unison everytime she was up there.

Salos, a woman in our church proceeded to tell me her family knew she needed them, children included, to stay arms length away from her. Soon as she told me, I hugged her!

Ya know... I'll whine about all the white haired men wearing suit coats that look alike and then being surprised when I grab the wrong arm and start walking to the wrong car!

I love it when the preacher is doing his thang and someone coughs a little. Next thing you know 40 people are hacking and then someone has to one up someone else and get a hanky and honk their nose off and then start harking and by this time I'm gaggin and laughing at the same time.

Oh my gosh....the honking sets me off like nothing else...I will laugh my hiney off at one good honk...then I can't get it together and eventually have to slink down in my seat so the pastor doesn't see me and think I'm laughing at him!

Fil,

You can't be too old if you're still bubbling in your undies (or is that Underoos?)

That would be me under the latter category. Sorry.

I also do not like it when people besides my family or close friends come up to me to hug me. LOL when I was very young I had a 3 foot rule when I was cranky. If anyone came within 3 feet of me I got mad and punched......ahh the good ol days!

I could send some deodorant Walker.....

J/k

I don't mind a hug so much, as long as it is appropriate. If it from a woman, except for my wife, then I think it should be a "from the side" hug. With a guy, well I think it is safe to say there isn't much of a worry for full frontal contact.

Everyone has their comfort level. Our pastor kisses everyone on the top of the head. Not a big deal, really. More like a "holy kiss" than anything.

Blessings.

Culturally, a kiss on the cheek for basically everyone. It has no 'sexual' overtones, and is, as fil stated, a 'holy kiss'. Even had one person accept one that I would never have thought to otherwise. He was behind someone else and since I greeted them with a kiss, him too. When I am an usher, putting me at the door means it takes a little longer for people to get in I am however a big-time hugger too It's my personality, and people are used to it/expect it.

I had one friend who went crazy the first few times I hugged her- and I later found out it was family issues from childhood. I didn't treat her any differently than anyone else (I practice non-discriminitory displays of friendliness ), and now she will accept a hug (though I am still working on getting one in return).

I don't think it's fair that this thread is getting so lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng. I have to go potty. Tyrubonchi just put HER finger on MY keyboard. How long until we get to the end?????
