Ezri: I don't think I'm in your church because I'm not in N.C. N.C. is a nice place to sleep, tho. I've been there. Don't remember what we're studying. Might have something to do with prayer. Maybe I did wind up in N.C...but I don't remember an organ.

Not remembering the organ is not really a big deal as no one has played it but my eldest daughter in the 4 years we have been here and I have been told that then it had been since the 80's that they'd had a church oranist. Soooooo it sits and collects dust. BUT the church janitor IS earning her keep having to dust it.

I think the guitar(acoustic- the lil ol ladies get up and leave when the music ministers son gets out his electric) has taken the place of the organ in more recent years.

BOO!

I am here to NOT complain!

VBS was a HUGE sucsess!

Crafts were loved by all and the kids all listened and followed directions well.

That is a FIRST in 3 years I have been involved with VBS Crafts. I was the Craft director the last 2 and a helper the first year. I guess they learned last year that I had great expectations for them and decided it would be best to meet my expectations this year.

Okay- so I can't say thats right. I give GOD all the credit for this wonderful VBS experience. i (<-- leaving that one for Darryl's benefit) actually couldn't WAIT to get to the church all last week. It went so well my helpers were awesome the kids were awesome and WOW!

As I said NO COMPLAINTS!

Now I wait to be Nudged for being off topic.

Well I'd apologize and all but it was much too much fun to even consider apologizing.

Let's just say going to church on Sundays have been making me want to poke out my eardrums with a red-hot needle. All the sermons I have been hearing from the Sr. Pastor is basically about him and his family and how blessed they are because he's tithing, and how faithful he is now and how he was a pothead and now he's a nice guy.

The thing is, to serve as a praise leader for the youth once a month on Friday nights , regardless of if they are singing along is far more spiritually satisfying, and thirst quenching for me than to sit and hear above stated sermons on Sunday mornings.

Heh, I like how the "Dont click here" option is winning.

But, the pastor did tell me a story of someone almost drowning at their baptism.
They had gone to Israel, and people were getting baptized in the river.
Apparently, one pastor didn't realize that you lie them with their back facing upstream.
He leaned back one girl the wrong way, and the current wouldn't let him bring her back up.
He finally had to just let go and have her squirm her way back up.

They keep our church too hot! I have to fan myslef and wear short sleeves in the winter!
Our Sr Pastor is great though, he loves the word and is a good teacher. It is a small church and we have way too many functions... almost every night there is something... I have matured to the point where I no longer feel obligated, I don't feel like people wonder why I don't do more, I just go to what I can and stay happy.
It is a 45 minute drive to my church... too far, but there are so few good churches around these days... i'm just glad it's not an hour drive!

They need to cut the heater down though. I don't understand. There are wimmen sitting in there in sweaters and big coats and I am in short sleeves and sweating... why are wimmen alway's cold?

The poll is missing "not enough parking". I guess it's not really a problem for the churches on the Continental United States, or what not, but parking is a pain here in Hawaii. If you're not the senior pastor, the associate pastor, elderly, injured, or a guest, you have to park on the street, and there's only so many places to park on the street with all the NO PARKING signs all over the place due to the fact that the area is a bus route with frequent bus stop signs. So I'll whine and whine about the parking for our church because we have to park 1/2 a mile away from the church just to find somewhere to park the car.

I feel your pain. I lived in Key West for over a year and had to walk over half a mile to church from the nearest parking spot I could find on the street. I didn't mind the walk so much as showing up in my Sunday best all hot and sweaty.

I lived in key west for nearly two years... but my folks were heathens at the time- I don't think they would have walked across the road to go to church back then. THOUGH they might have complained about all the folks parking in front of the house on sunday.

Those are my favorite kind! I can listen and think about their sermons without wondering if they have a really bad piece on or they just have strange hair.

We had an enormous bald preacher one time. He split the church up.
