I'd be frustrated too. What you're going through must be an American thing. I've never heard of it happening here in Canada. I find it very outrageous! {{{{{Nora}}}}}

Maggie, it is very common down here.

Nora, I am very sorry to hear about your latest financial woes with your soon to be exhusband. Perhaps you could turn around and sue him for what is happening right now?

Nora I feel for you and the medical bills. We just got sued for bills that in my opinion had no reason for not getting paid. If that money we "didn't have to pay the bills with" didn't go to "other" stuff, it wouldn't have to come down to that.

That aside I just can't believe how people can be irresponsible with their credit cards and you hear all of these places that will help them with that but not medical bills. I don't now if those people wiling to help out those in debt due to credit cards are really as helpful as they sound but it sure would be nice to get help with medical bills that you can't even help getting. Who plans on gettng sick or hurt?

Mike,

No suing in a marriage, even when it hasn't been a real marriage in almost a year. I will just have to absorb the loss and press on.

DeeDee,

I carried him on my insurance til the end of DEC, but it was costing me double what it does now to have him on there. I carried him for 7 mths without a word or thank you or any repayment for the cost, I had enough of that when I lost my house and couldn't even keep a roof over my childs head. I still live on a friends couch and my dd is in MS with her dad. I am slowly trying to move back towards even but this will hold me down longer. OH well down here we have a saying " can't get blood from a turnip." I will make it through one way or the other.

Maggie,

Yes very outrageous, but many people get caught in this trap. I have an appointment next week and hopefully I can get the divorce before any garnishments start or they carry me to court.

This is so very true. Too often we work on fixing up the outside with little regard for what or who is on the inside.

What a concept, you mean we have to work on the inside first! LOL! Why is it so easy to foucus on the outside and not the inside? I know I fall in to that trap alll too often that is for sure!

Dee Dee, I think its a matter of Jesus being inside us and letting him change us there. Jesus talked about how what's inside will show on the outside so yeah, its the inside that matters most. I think it's the difference between us trying to live according to a list of rules (which include praying and reading our Bibles--all very good and important things) vs. us focusing on Jesus' presence in our lives. Others may not notice a difference right away and maybe not for a long time but it's like Jesus' story of the two houses, one built on the rock and one on the sand. The one on the sand probably went up a lot faster and maybe even looked more impressive, but which one stood firm when the wind and flood came? We want to think that foundation, that which isn't seen, isn't important but its what makes all the difference in the world.

OH yes Maggie you got it SO RIGHT!
Many would look at my life and say...NOT, but HE knows my heart and the fact that HE still calls my heart and I still answer says it all for me!

Hello All,

I just wanted to say hello and hope all are doing well. I have heard for the lawyer and he has filed and he said that once the final is issued (apprx. 60 days from now) He will submit the decree to the creditors and that should stop them from coming after me for his bills. Right now last count over $10, 00.00 in just hospital bills after my insurance paid! The HIGH COST of drinking one's self into bad health! I hate that he is suffering BUT, the root cause is his alcoholism. I pray that he wakes up one day and bends his knee to GOD! All I can do at this point is protect myself and my family.

Nora, I'm glad that something is going to get done about the debts you're having to pay for. The sooner they get transferred back to the right person who incurred them, the better.

Thanks Trish!

Well I made some changes over the weekend that will hopefully help my financial situation and have more in the works.

1. I moved this weekend from where I was staying to my dd's aunt and uncle's house. They have been offering me my own room almost free for months. I finally took them up on the offer, it will save me living exspenses and it will be 20 miles closer to work one way. They have known me for 24 yrs and they are family in every sense of the word.

2. I am looking for a job closer to home, I was driving 55 miles a day to work one way, now 35 miles but it is a long drive no matter how you look at it. With gas prices as they are it cost me around$50.00 a week just to go back and forth!

3. I am also looking into selling most of the stuff I currently have in storage, I am not using it and I have lived without all of it for 4 mths now, so really how important is all that stuff, it is just that stuff!

Anyway, other than moving I had a great weekend. I hope ya'll had the same!

((((((((((((((((Nora))))))))))))) Somehow I never got subbed here. I've been so busy lately....I'm sorry you're having such problems with STB-X. I'm glad you've made promising changes, though, as tough as change is, I think you did good. Always praying.
