Blessed Monday... The first day of the week was yesterday.

Duuude! Isn't Pad Thai awesome? I have to find me a good recipe cause John likes it so much that he wants to eat it once a week. I am sure that with practice you can get it huh?

I am off today. All I can say is woo hoo! lol It's been still busy at work. Today is the day I can breathe. Ha.

How was everyone's weekend? Tell me what all your sermons were about?

I never heard of gay days at Disney. Wow. I don't see why they would do that. Wouldn't a gay man or woman be able to attend the park on any day of the week?

Gay days is the reason the Southern Baptists boycotted Disney for many years.

And yes, they could go to the parks any day of the week. Who knows why Disney started that. Maybe to get more business?

Allow me to impart some knowledge since I've been on "the other side" of the issue. Gay Days occur the first week of June. It is not sponsored by Disney, but rather an outside group...and includes other local theme parks (ie. Universal) throughout the week. For this reason, Disney cannot stop the event because really they just are paying park guests who choose this time to come.

Saturday is traditionally the day they hit the magic kingdom. They always wear red shirts to distinguish themselves. Also, another note- even though Disney does not sponsor this event, they still are prepared to deal with any issues at guest relations. I've heard of them allowing families to transfer to another park if they can't deal with this particular "crowd" of people.

Honestly, I don't know how bad it is. I've only worked in the park once in the entire time I was there, and I was at a gift shop. It mostly seemed like another day to me, but when you're used to working with a lot of people who do not know the Lord in any way, you become somewhat accustomed to being around these people.

It can be a great opportunity of education for your kids. Sadly, many people in the Church choose to ignore the subject and pretend these people do not exist. However, I've found many of these people hurting just as much (if not more) than the average non-Christian. Therefore, many of them are more accepting of others because they've had their fare share of non-acceptance in their lives.

Sorry that I took over this thread, Trishy- I'm very passionate about this issue, and while I do not condone the actions of this behavior in any way-- I still love these people and believe that God has the power to deliver them from this behavior if they would just accept Him in their lives.

Awesome post Tina. I totally agree. I never really knew many gay people at all until I started working where I am now. There were once three of them there (half the staff). I really find it a blessing for me personally. Why? Cause it's an opportunity for me to see through Yeshua's eyes and to practice compassion and to pray for them. They are sinners like the rest of us. The only difference is that they don't see it as sin. There are some gay people out there though who know it's wrong but just struggle with it. And I agree too Tina that it's just an opportunity for us to teach our children. Thanks for educating us girl.

I worked in ex-gay ministry for 12 years, and agree with 99% of Tina's post. But if I was a parent, I would keep my child away from the park that day. I think that type of education can be premature.

Pad Thai is awesome. I don't even try to cook it. I go to a local restaurant, and they spoil me.

For about $10 (including drink AND tip), I can get enough food for two meals, so I like that setup.

The sermon yesterday was about the topic of what's inside will come out. We can fake it long enough, but if there's a true relationship, that will show. If there isn't, then that will show too.

Dude, I know! Most Thai restaurants serve family style so when you order it for yourself, it's enough to last a few meals. I love mine with shrimp! Medium hot please.

Our sermon was about Judaism in a Christian perspective. But apparently, there are just as many "denominations" in Judaism as there is in Christianity. Just like how we have Christian cults like JW, Mormon, etc... there are also Judaic forms as well like Kabbalah. I also learned a little more about the Fruits of the Spirits. Human beings in their sinful nature have always had the tendency to live in extremes. Whether you are corrupt in your sins or overly spiritual to point of practicing spiritual paganism, the Fruits of the Spirits are meant to bring balance to us. With love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, etc... it brings about balance that leads us to G-d. And I so realized even further just how blessed we are as saved Gentiles. Jesus actually didn't come for us originally but only for His people.

I've been thinking about that fact lately myself. It's humbling, isn't it?

Oh absolutely!

I love days off. I can post more. So today on the island I have served up some iced kona coffee. I'll leave some plantation iced tea for Darcy though so she has something to drink. The wind is perfect for hammock swaying and the choco chip macadamia nut cookies are just coming out of the oven. Smell it?

Gosh, I gotta the favor idea squared away. So...we decided to incorporate an element from Cleveland for the favors. So John is having these famous popcorn balls from Cleveland shipped to represent his home town! I am not sure what I want to add for the Hawaii element yet. Hmm. Sarah, any ideas? Or I could just have the popcorn balls and package it with a Hawaiian twist. Hmm?

One thing that was brought out is that just like fruit comes from within the plant that bears it, spiritual fruit has to come from within us. Just as a tree bears fruit after its seed, a person's spiritual fruit resembles the seed that is in us. Planting seeds of hate, envy, strife, etc. cannot produce fruits of love, joy, peace, etc.

It was very convicting. And very uplifting.

I'll br thinking about those favor ideas. The only ideas I have are Macadamia (sp?) Nuts. Or a Hawaiian music CD.

Darn, the soon-to-be Hubby thought of my idea first which I guess makes it his idea.

I don't think I would go with a Japanese theme with the favors. I already have one with the cake, invitation and centerpieces. So the favors should incorporate the Hawaii aspect.

Or maybe I should decorate with duct tape? Hey Ray!

Hiya Darcy! Good to see you. Are you enjoying your iced tea? All for you, Ms. I hate coffee.

Happy Wednesday everyone... Half the week has almost gone by. And can you believe it's almost May?

Right now Leis (along with everything else) are going to be EXPENSIVE. The cargo airline that brought in about 85% of everything from mail to food to flowers to supplies has gone bankrupt..Kaput (sp?)...Dead.

An this right on the cusp of May/Lei Day, Mothers Day, Graduation Season and Wedding Season. Oahu won't be so bad/ It is the other islands like Maui or Molikai (sp?) that will suffer. Because after stuff is flown in here. It has to go out usually by plane to the other islands.

It also depends on what kind of Lei. Some cost more than others.

But August things should be better.

Aloha Airline;s cargo division may be spared and, flights could resume as early as this afternoon if another airline steps in,and the bankruptcy court accepts it...

The cargo workers were asked to go to work today.

Happy National Day of Prayer! After work today I head on over to the State Capitol for the prayer event. I'll be taking pics for my Rabbi as he's the head of the event in Hawaii.

It sure does Deb. The event was awesome! Very powerful. The Holy Spirit was truly in the house. I got some good pics, including ones of our Lt. Governor and Attorney General. I didn't realize that Hawaii's AG is also the AG for other islands in the Pacific and also for Antartica. He comes in every once in awhile to our store to custom frame. Very nice man. It's comforting to know how he, our Lt. Gov and our Gov are all lovers of G-d. Our Gov. is also Jewish as well. She must believe in Jesus. She supports all the Christian organizations.

But Aloha Friday everyone! What would you like served on the island today?

I'm in work for just a few hours this morning and then John and I have the rest of the day off. It's it's first service in weeks! Yay!
