Due to the threat of a Rice shortage grocery stores a limiting Hawaii residents to only two bags of Rice...The people of Hawaii LOVE their rice. And there are elderly people who were alive during World War II when there really was a Rice shortage.

Oh, and I beleive that it is also Boys Day a Japanese celebration of sons/boys. And yes they do have a Girls Day...I believe that is in April or March. Trishy might have a better idea of when.
