There isn't , they are going to make a hatchback prius though. There isn't enough room in a matrix for the extra battery.

They test all the cars here so we find out about all the upcoming models they try to keep secret. They drive them around town with covers on them so you can't peak or send photos to the car magazines. They are supposed to replace the matrix soon with a different car from japan, the blade. It was actually rumored to come out this year but I guess they are behind.

If I won a million bucks, I'd pull aside the money the goverment wins, then pay off my parents mortgage, my brothers' mortgage, and buy a house of my own. Then save the rest.

And maybe take a REALLY nice vacation.

(P.S. Ray....LOVE the new avatar)

I like that idea. When I learn to drive I'd like a Prius

lol Sarah.

Aloha friday island peeps! What is everyone's plans for the weekend? Tomorrow John and I will go to the new apartment to bring in some stuff. Not much though. I'm going to bring in some art and a mirror, a shoe rack, and I'm going to ask my boss if I can have the extra microwave we have at work. I may also go look at curtains today. I wonder who has the kind with the material on top to hang from. Hmm.

Hope to see you in here again. Miss everyone.

Hi Trishy and everyone!

Not much plans for the weekend, just resting/recovering from this cold that I have. I really wish it would go away real soon!

There is still a lot that needs to be done but at this point it seems like the best choice.

Hi Mike! I too have been battling a cold. Hope you feel 100% soon!

((Sarah)) Yes, there are good care homes here if you look. My prayers go out to you and your grandmother. Does she also know about Home Without Walls? This is a care service in which they come to YOUR home to care for you. I am sure too they have social programs in which clients can get out with other clients to have some fun together. I would look into that. Catholic Charities may have something similar. This way, she can stay home while getting the support she needs.

We thought of that opition but the uncle that I mentioned does not want that. And since he owns the house he feels that he has the most say. He put his mother in a home so he feels that is the opition that we should do.

Having signed myself in to a nursing home at one point, I pray that your grandmother will explore other options. The place I was in really wasn't what it made itself out to be. Even when I visited, they misrepresented themselves. I lasted almost two years, but finally signed myself out!

Yet again it wold have to be taken up with my Uncle. My grandmother knows what he would prefer and my uncle strongly dislikes people who go against him. There is a lot of family history behind this when it come to dealing with my Uncle.

We would love to put her in a Retirement Community. Where people have their own space like a condo/apartment. With activities and nurses and such.

Hello, islanders! Yes, I'm still alive. I haven't spent much time in the forums recently.

I hope everyone is doing well. I just got through catching up in Rachel's thread about her recent wedding and her new husband's upcoming surgery.

Trishy, I hope and pray you feel better soon.

My life has been interesting lately, to say the least. I wish it were all positive, but it isn't. Please keep me in your prayers.

At least I went dancing for the first time in a long while last night. I found out that while I didn't forget everything I'm clearly out of practice.

Sarah, I hope and pray all works out well with your grandmother. There are good homes, but even they have to be watched carefully. I had a great-aunt who spent the last year of her life in a home after she was no longer able to take care of herself. My father, who was her next-of-kin, always went to visit her at different times of the day to make sure everything was OK. He wasn't afraid to ask questions if he saw something amiss, and neither should you or your family.

Absolutely! That's the advice I always give. Visit often, and at varying times (so the staff knows you'll come, but never knows when). Then they'll treat her very well!
