Hi Gary!

I saw the Royals once. I think it was an exhibition game. It was the KC Royals at the Omaha Royals. The year was probably about 1973.

My great-grandmother used to have a peecan. She kept it under her bed.

Oh dear, Ray.

Yep, this place sure is addictive.

Glad you had a good time with your family, Gary.

Okay, Lori...recipes are posted

Thanks Karlie!!!
I'll go check it out now.

Gary, I know what you mean about forum withdrawl.
I was without puter access for 3 days last month.
I thought I was going to go nuts!
But I seemed to make up for lost time JUST FINE!!!
My DH smoked 2 turkeys. One was wild and one was storebought.
They were so tasty! He uses a rub on the skin that is soooo good.

I know Wild Turkey is bourbon, but I was thinking that they literally meant wild turkey, as in, having feathers on it at some stage.

Yes, with enough Wild Turkey, feathers on a stage is an inevitable outcome.

I have eaten wild turkey, and you really have to work on it first. I rinse it in vinegar, that helps with the gamey taste, and I marinade it overnight in the fridge. When I roast it, I mix the herbs with melted real butter and olive oil, as the wild birds have little fat on them.

LOL!!! No! Not the liquor "Wild Turkey!"
And hold the feathers please!

After my DH smokes the turkey for 14 hours the wild taste is very mild.
I don't like a strong wild taste and I CERTAINLY can handle this flavor.
It actually is more much more tender and juicy than the storebought turkey.
He has never cooked wild turkey any other way.
I know a vinegar rinse and Italian dressing marinade does tame a wild
taste in a lot of game meat.

MMmmm....I'm thinking of his bacon wrapped, Italian dressing marinaded, smoked dove.
Now that is a delicacy! But gosh, there are so many teeny tiny bones.

LOL! Ray, you are a nut.

I'm not into game meats either. They just don't agree with me. Vinegar doesn't do good things for me either. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to try it.

Wild Turkey, the liquid kind without any feathers though, I could be tempted...maybe.

Good afternoon Ray, Trish and Lori

I am setting in acoffee shop on a nice sunny afternoon. Hope you all are doing well.

I have eaten wild turkey before, and it is all very dark meat, very gamey.

Hi Trish, Lori Ray and everyone.

I have made it back home amidst some really wierd weather for late November, thunderstorms and tornado warnings. Most of the current tornado warnings are to the east of me (and going in that direction). But they are other storms forming south and west of me and heading in my directions.

I had a good time in Wichita visitng my mother, sister and BIL. I also did some shopping, went to an art gallery walk and went to the Botanica Gardens Christmas display.

Lori, the exhibit opens December 7 for two weeks. I have to matte and frame the prints this week and turn in this weekend.

Good morning Rachel,

Are you and your children over the illness that you had?

Deserts are my specialty for pot lucks and group dinners.

It is back to work and into winter.

Trish, I took 2 peanut butter pies and 2 chocolate chip (R8chel creations) pies.... two of them got sent home with Doer's sister's family!

Hey Gary!

Kristen would love that pie. I have never seen anyone love peanut butter like she does. She even makes peanut butter smoothies
