Anyone remember when a MacDonalds cheeseburger and a gallon of gas were both $.19 each ?[sm=icon_smile_roll.gif]

Well, Bob, you are a little bit older than I am. LOL!! I only remember when gas was .27 cents a gallon and a cheeseburger was about .29 cents.

Yeah, I remember when cheese burgers were about a quarter. but no one remembers popsicles being ten cents, huh. Didn't anyone like popsicles when they were young.

LOL--I remember ten cent popsicles. And dreamsicles. And nickel cherry phosphates at the drug store. And the real golden arches. It was a HUGE treat to go there.

Oh my, you ARE old!!!

hehe

Of course you're addressing the others, not me, eh Floydette?

Doveflight, I remember shinning my shoes on Sat. night too. I also remember having my hair rolled on pink foam rollers on Sat. night.

I remember being in school (2nd grade) when our teacher told us that the president had been shot.

When man first walked on the moon, I remember looking out my bedroom window at the moon for a long time just thinking about how there was life up there on that night.

I wasn't the only one having to deal with those dumb pink rollers....ugggg... made your head hurt...

Not me. Uh uhh. No way. No pink rollers for me. I remember my mom had those nasty gray pokey rollers, though.

40 isn't old!![sm=biggrin.gif]

I'm 47 and will consider myself middle-aged for a long time.

My grandmother lived to 91, my mother has a real good chance seeing 100, so considering that I'm not even middle aged yet, I"ll atleast be 110 if not 120. Watch out Methusalah.

Doveflight -> RE: Where are all the 40+ church workers and theologians (5/1/2005 5:18:26 PM)

The most uncomfortable things.....oh my....

weeble -> RE: Where are all the 40+ church workers and theologians (5/1/2005 5:42:36 PM)

I don't think I wore darned socks, but I do remember putting clear fingernail polish on runs in my hose. I also remember wearing fish net hose.

bzirk -> RE: Where are all the 40+ church workers and theologians (5/1/2005 6:07:49 PM)

I remember darned socks. My mother taught me to put a light bulb or ball or something round in the end of the sock to darn the heel.

A quick recap:
At 20, your hair starts falling out, but seriously so at 30.

At 40, your your arms begin shrinking in length, even more so by 45. ("Four-eyes" is no longer a nickname you give others.)

At 50, little of the remain hair on your head is its original color - unless you help it chemically. And your mind slowly begins to leak out and a second childhood ceases to be a crazy idea to you.

Or so I've heard.

Having had many brothers, I was trying to help out your memories, but the best I could come up with was cobbing corn in the hand grinder, cranking the tractor wheel and shootin pidgeons out the haymow window.

I am so glad to hear someone regrets the rash behavior of their youth. I used to be so mad at them for shooting the birds.
