We faced teh fall of the economic world, the Great Depression, the 2nd World War, Korean War and into the fifties. The church remained strong through those tough years. I read where some claimed the people then were unlearned. Well, I would love to challenge that. I find the youth of to-day untrained, unlearned and unconcerned, They think that going out two by two is a trip to McDonald's. We never had McDOnald's, but we did have weekly visitation, strong prayer meetings and indepth Bible studies. Yes, those old saints could quote scripture around the young one's heads. Their quiet faith carried them through all manner of evil and tribulation. We didn't need a movie screen up front to show the words of hymns; we knew them.
Sorry, if we returned to the traditional worship service, we would show the world that we have no desire to join them, and just maybe, they will want to join us in celebrating Jesus CHrist and His Word.

Hair? I remember HAIR, wasn't it a stage musicals from the 60's. I remember the 60's, now... I am 60.
I'm still here singing in churches every weekend with my group. I will do that work until I'm hit in the face with a shovel and my soul is in Heaven. Amen.
That for one is where I am and on those Sundays when I don't have a date with my group I sing in our choir where I've been a member since the early 50's. So you can see the older folks are still doing their part while the younger folks are still trying to find themselves. That was meant to be funny for any of you thin skinned folks, don't take it so seriously. LOL You aren't gonna get out of live alive anyway. Relax and enjoy.

Yeah, it's a good show. I was without my four kids for a month, and during that time, my husband and I started watching that show.
I think I read it was a summer show and only slotted until the "real" season begins.

I think Frankie Lane also sang the theme song to High Noon, didn't he? "Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling" - I'm not even 40 yet, but will be in less than two months, Lord willing. But I often feel like I was born in the wrong generation! I guess I'm an "old geezer" in my heart - no offense to anyone here! (except I love having some more modern things like ibuprofen so I guess God knew what He was doing by letting me be born when I was) 
Oh I also think Eule (is that how you spell his name) Gibbons used to advertise for Grape Nuts, didn't he?
