i had another watch of the interview with larry king....

the only words about the gospel that stood out was

quote:

i don know, i don know

He does have a very nice smile......

For reference, he said "I don't know" 87 times.

Is that who you want leading YOUR church?

Well, we are supposed to test all teachers against Scripture. That includes ones that are biblically IGNORANT

Oh...he's quite intelligent. He's been able to fleece millions from equally biblically ignorant people with his Christian-lite books, cd's, calendars, journals, and travelling road shows.

Know what's sad? If even half those people had a solid understanding of Scripture, the JOs, Rick Warrens and Joyce Meyers of the world would be out of business

If his claims are true then he has his best intelligence now.

Flight attendant: Osteen's wife pushed co-worker

"HOUSTON - The wife of evangelical pastor Joel Osteen got physical when her demands that a small spill on her seat be cleaned up were not immediately met, a flight attendant testified Thursday at a civil trial over the incident.

Continental Airlines flight attendant Maria Johnson testified that Victoria Osteen grew increasingly agitated and pushed her co-worker Sharon Brown, though the flight attendants had remained professional and reassured her a crew had been called to clean the spill, which was about the size of a 50-cent piece.

"She was demanding that attention be given to her immediately," Johnson said. She added that Victoria Osteen kept saying: "This is ridiculous. I'm a first-class passenger."

Brown is suing Victoria Osteen, alleging that she threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the breast before the start of a 2005 flight to Vail, Colo.

Johnson confirmed Brown's claims that Victoria Osteen became so upset she tried to get into the cockpit and had to be physically restrained.

"She took Sharon by the shoulders and pushed her out of the way. Sharon stumbled," Johnson testified."

Why didn't she just speak words of faith to the spill/stain on her seat?

Sorry for the chide remark but I am sick and tired of being represented by people who when asked if Jesus is the only way to God? They respond with 87 "I don't knows....."

Wake up Church.

Thanks............LOL.

Again, not surprised by the Osteen's reactions; you know, the "first class personage."

I had heard this was Obama's wife, {chuckle}.
Guess they heard wrong. But, an elitist is an elitist.

the other day as i was flipping channels, I came across Joel osteens' broadcast and so i decided to force myself to watch a few minutes of it, just for curiosity sake. Well, osteen was up there on the stage and talking in that la la la sing songy voice and that grin on his fact that is always there like the Joker of Batman... my impressions were that he was sing-songing a nice poem or something ,, like a hippie tree hugger from the 1960's on marijuana or something, he was that mellow. I finally had to turn the channel when i had enough.

what was shocking was that huge auditoreum that all those people are watching him. when they pan the audience, the people look like normal people.

now if this is what they are going for each sunday, can it change their life and make them love God more? or do these people just sit thru a positive speech session on that day they made the broadcast.

hey i have gone to these types of seminars for my job. They teach you about self esteem and how to have a happy life and positive self esteem and other junk like that.

You pegged it.
That's all JO produces.
Just "positive-thinking stuff."

There's not a thing wrong with positive-thinking "stuff," depending on its basis.

If that basis is my ability to pump myself up despite circumstances, sooner or later it will be as useless as a 6-thumbed garden glove.

But if it is based on the Lord Jesus Christ, His redemption, the new spiritual birth it produced, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, His promise to return as Conquering King and the eternal blessings of worshipping and serving Him in the new bodies that He has promised, Then, PRAISE HIM, positive-thinking should be our NORMAL state without any need for a sissified rich man strutting around a stage like he knows what he's talking about.

How can people sit there, mature looking people, sit there and not know this is contrary to Scripture and plain old common sense?

get this verse didn't make into Joel's bible

Rom 8:16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

What a sermon! Its a sad sad thing that motivational speakers like Joel are followed by professing Christians.

I love Joel Osteen. He is very practical and teaches people how to live everyday life according to the Word of God.

I agree.
He chooses to preach a more leveled and positive reflextion of the bible. He will reach alot more people than he already has.
