ORIGINAL: wfisaac Thank you all so much for your prayers and the encouragement I received. I have to say that when I went to the hospital this evening I about tripped over my jaw. My dad had just gotten here from downstate about 20-30 minutes before I got there and when I walked in my grandma was sitting up and talking clear as day to him and my step mom. I kept telling my dad that I wasn't exaggerating when I called him last night. It was a very grim outlook. The doctor even told us that even IF she pulled through she would probably not get her speach back or have any usage on her right side. Well....tonight she was chatting away and using her hands to open those small little wrapped mints pretty well. Wow!!!! I am so amazed. A little bit later my aunt and uncle just got here and when they walked in the room and looked at her my uncle said that sure wasn't the story he heard last night when we called him. I told him the story has obviously changed. Anyway....I kept thinking I need to take this as an opportunity to tell my grandma that I had begged God to not let her go until I knew she was ready. There were just too many people coming and going and I didn't get the opportunity but I am praying that now that her mind is clear again that God would speak to her heart and draw her closer to Him. And I'm praying she and I will have an opportunity to talk about it. Thanks again for the prayers. I would like to just ask if you could to pray that I have the opportunity to have a good heart to heart talk and that I would have the wisdom to know what to say and also what not to say. The Lord put you right there when your grandmother needed you -- getting her medical attention right away helped her greatly! Praise the Lord! God is so good, isn't He? Will pray for an opportunity for you to share with her. That the Lord give you wisdom, the words and just the peace that only He can give as you share.

ORIGINAL: kj88il quote:
ORIGINAL: 9drtr I don't know what to do. It seems that God is taking away everything I enjoy, everything that offers any hope that tomorrow will be slightly less awful than today. God seems to want me miserable. I don't know why, but I know that I can't take it any more. It seems that every day God invents some new way to make me tear out what's left of my hair. I don't know what to ask your prayers for right now. On good days I feel like beating my head against a wall. Today isn't a good day. I don't know why God hates me. Dear Lord....I just pray that You would wrap Your loving arms around Edwin right this very moment!! Give him just a glimpse of the hope and blessings that You have in store for him. Help him to remember what it is to feel Your peace...and as You plant that seed in his heart...give him a spirit that longs to grow in that. Use Your Holy Spirit to just fill him up....to plug all those gaping holes in his heart. Give him a desire to search Your Word for comfort and reassurance, Lord. And Lord, I just praise You that Edwin trusts all of us here to share his pain. Let him rest in us, Lord...as we cover him in prayer and lift his wounded heart up to Your. For we know that You are mightier than anything Satan can throw at him. We call on Your promises, that You will be near Edwin in his time of pain and despair....and will deliver him through this valley. Fill Edwin with Your strength, Lord. Help him to stand up today and declare victory in You!!! We thank You, in advace, Father, for bringing Edwin through his struggles and his doubts. And even if none of us understands why Edwin is suffering at this time...we can only pray that somehow You are glorfied through it. All these things we pray...in Jesus' name....amen. What a beautiful prayer. I second that, Edwin! God will get you through your rough time. I just thought of the Footprints poem, where the person felt like he was alone, but in those solitary times, when things were the toughest, it was when God carried him. He will carry you too if you let Him. I've been through some tough times the last few years and I keep relying on James 1:2 (and following). There is a purpose to what you're going through. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you! On another note, I have an update and a new request. The new request: my youngest dd broker her arm again last Thur (7/3). My grandmother took her to a picnic and she was racing another kid and fell. It had only been 3 weeks since we got the "discharge" from the doc's care from the first breaks. Doc said that if she broke it again (within the next 6-12 mos), it'd break in the same 2 places. It did. And it's worse. At the time of her casting, it was bowed by 25 degrees. They only got it down to 20 degrees when they tried squeezing the bones in alignment (before the casting material hardened). They like it 15 degrees or less. The first time she broke those bones, it was 18 degrees and they got it down to 9 degrees. It was healing nicely. Anyway, we had another appt yesterday and her bones shifted 15 degrees - she's now at 35 degrees!! So.........she's having surgery Tuesday to fix it. They'll put ina rod to take care of the ulna (the bottom bone in the forearm) and, depending on how things go, they may or may not have to also put in a plate/screws to take care of the radius. Hopefully just the rod will take care of it. And I think I've also got the option to have a temp rod that will stay in 9-12 months, but would require surgery to remove it. Or I could get a perm one that wouldn't interfere with her growth plate. Please pray that the surgeon and everyone on his team is well rested and focused and that she pulls through this without any problem. And for quick healing. The update: I only heard back from one of the interviews I went on a few weeks ago and I didn't get it. I assume the same about the previous. I sent off 3 apps to a local school system (admin) last week and am praying for God's favor on those. Also, a longtime friend of mine works at a local university, of which I have previously sent in a resume and app online with no luck. Today she asked me about it and I told her I never heard back. She said she'd see if there was any way she could help. So I went on the website today and sent her 8 positions that I was interested in. One of them is on the same floor that she works on. That'd be fun (we've known each other for 27 years!). It's not easy to get a job there so any help from the inside certainly won't hurt. And, of course, please also pray for my financial situation. Being without a job for this long has been extremely difficult. God has provided, just like His word says He will. I REALLY need to get back to work. Now would be great! ;) Thanks guys, for all your prayers. They are very much appreciated!

What is the deal with all these attacks?!?!?!?! (Get thee behind me, Satan!!) Anyway...my youngest daughter's surgery is scheduled for 12:30p tomorrow (EST). My older daughter called me today and said she felt a lump in her breast last week and it hasn't gone down. Now I've gotta figure out how that'll be handled, as she has no insurance and is living on her own now. I could use some strength, guidance and encouragement through all this myself.

My daughter's surgery went very well! Thank you so much for all your prayers. They only had to put in one rod in her arm instead of two (yea!). She did not have any adverse reaction to the anesthesia. She seems to be recovering very nicely. Praise God.

My wrist is killing me today (I have mild carpel tunnel syndrome), and I forgot my brace at home. It only took about 10 minutes with the mouse before it started hurting. I'm hoping we have a strong bandage here at work so that I can wrap it. I can't take the time to go home and get the brace. If not, please pray that it doesn't hurt TOO much - as I'm on a very time-sensitive project.

Praying for all. Requesting prayer for The Beau and GP1. The Beau's parents have agreed to a mediated meeting, but requested that their own pastor be the mediator. This is somewhat acceptable because they haven't been attending this church for very long, so hopefully the pastor is fairly objective. He will also be free, whereas a professional would cost...and The Beau and GP1 don't have any money. TB and GP1 meet with the guy on Friday. They have been going through all the pertinent documentation in preparation...quite a painful process. Please pray for this situation. At this point, I can't even suggest WHAT to pray for...just asking that you bring it before the Lord. He will know. besiderself

I have a big event coming up this weekend at my store and it has me kind of stressed since it is the first time I am having an event like this. I would appreciate prayers that it is a success and that it doesn't rain since it is outside.

Praying for all. I would like to request continued prayer for my grandma. They moved her to a rest home facility so she can get therapy before allowing her to come home. I am so amazed at how well she's done. Last night she and I carried on a good conversation and you would never have known she had the stroke just a week ago. Just have to try and strengthen her leg a little so she can walk better. I'm hoping this rehab will go quickly....I really dislike this facility they have her at. The one they had her at a couple years ago when she had a stroke was wonderful....this one is not. Last night I think she wouldn't have even gotten a meal if I hadn't finally went and tracked someone down to get her some dinner. They told her they would bring her dinner when I got there about 5 and as time kept going I kept asking her if she wanted me to go track down her meal and she said no....about 7pm I told her I was just going to do it and the staff really acted like I was putting them out over it. Then the nurse keeps bringing her the wrong medications and not bringing the one she needs the most. Anyway....it's frustrating and I just hate knowing she's there. I had a friend who worked there for years and she herself would agree this isn't a very good facility. Sorry to ramble so much about it but I'm just anxious to have her be able to come home so she doesn't have to deal with that place.

Just want to update on The Beau and GP1 and their meeting. It went well, seemingly. The pastor asked pertinent questions and seemed to establish good ground rules as well as stating a view of the problems that is consistent with what TB and GP1 see. He has requested that TB and his parents meet with him as mediator first, and he promised GP1 that he would not attempt to sabotage her and TB's relationship during that meeting, that, in fact, he had no desire to do so. So, that's where we are. I thank all of you who prayed, and ask you to continue praying. We don't have a large window of time for this to all work out, as GP1 moves back home around the 14th of August. besiderself

Just wanted to update you all on my concern about the rehab facility they have my grandma....the situation took a turn for the good. They put her in a different section of the place. The room is 100 times better and the staff there seem more on top of things. I feel so much better about her being there now. What an answer to prayer. I would like to add my step grandpa to the list for prayer now. He's not married to the above grandma. He's my step mom's dad. A few weeks ago he was working with his cattle and one of the bulls got a little aggressive with him and slammed him into the wall and his hand got caught and tore deep into it. They put him on Darvocet for the pain which ended up being a very bad combo with the phenobarbital that he takes for his epilepsy. He ended up going into a coma because the phenobarbital spiked in his system. He was in a coma for a couple days. He was released after they did some charcoal treatment to get rid of the poison in his system and then he went home and seemed to be doing very well. But then last night he had a pretty bad epileptic seizure and they believe it's because after the phenobarbital spike they lowered the dose and now it's too low and not controlling the epilepsy. They still have him at the hospital. Please pray they can figure a way to give him what he needs to help with the healing of his hand but not interfere with what is needed to keep his epilepsy under control.

My main prayer requests are for: Deliverance from fear - newly divorced, need COMPLETE deliverance from fear ... fear of the unknown, fear of how I'll take care of myself, fear/worrying if I'll experience love (covenant/marriage) again. Provision - Moving from the marital property into my own apartment. Need God to provide continued employment so that I can pay my bills. Can't lean on anyone other than Him. Friends - Moved to this city - GA - with my family (husband and son). Son is in Marines and with the divorce, I now am alone here. I would like God to bless me with a new church family/home and sincere friends. The loneliness sometimes is overwhleming.

Praying for all the requests. I ask that you say a prayer for me. Being back home is great, but i'm starting over again. I have to find a job and eventually somewhere to live. If you could please ask for God's will in my life.

My older daughter had an MRI last week - we should be learning the results this week. Please pray all is okay. My younger daughter is doing well. I'm weaning her off the RX. It's supposed to make her drowsy but it's making her hyper instead. It has surely been a rough week dealing with her behavior this week! If there was ever a time I where I needed God's all-sufficient grace... Regarding the job search, a guy at my church got me in touch with a friend of his that was looking for some help. The guy is a solo act though, so he can't take care of the salary/benes that I'm looking for. He wanted to know my minimum number and work up to what I'm looking for. The biz has definite potential and could be very profitable. Probably one of the most attractive things about the job is that I could do much of it from my house, which means I wouldn't have to deal with daycare (or the cost of it). It's in a field where I have about 18 or so years of experience, so it shouldn't take much to get me up to speed in this particular part of the industry. I don't know what to do. I need income. I still haven't heard back from any of the other jobs I sent off for. I need His guidance. Praying for you guys too.
