Right now I'm just sitting back and not doing much. Maybe once i get to know people a little more and have settled with the other changes we've made in our lives recently I will be more involved.

Dh is already getting involved with music and J and X are going to Youth.

I'm slowly starting to get an idea of what I'm doing at work. There's a lot of doing things because there has to be an official record and I'm still really enjoying it.

Well, it's the Long Weekend. Any plans?

Dh and I plan to get a few things done around the house, but mostly we're just planning to enjoy a rare four days in each others company.

I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow though is I'm not better. The entire right side of my face around the sinuses is really painful and my right eye is really dry. It's been that way since last night when I went to bed early with a headache.

I couldn't go to the doctor today because they're all closed for Good Friday and it's not that bad that I would have considered going to the hospital.

I also want to take X to the doctor. She hurt her ankle at Youth last Friday and it seemed to be all better but just today she's been complaining that it's hurting again. I figure after a week it should be healed if it was a simple sprained ankle.

Oooh, sorry to hear you're not feeling well, sweetie! I hope the doc can do something for you, so your whole weekend doesn't get messed up.

At least it hasn't stopped me from doing the things I've wanted to this weekend.

I spent about three hours doing cross-stitch this afternoon and later this evening dh and I are going to hang the mirror (for our ensuite) we've been framing all day. We've painted the frame the same colour as the outside section of the shelves we built for our ensuite about six months ago.

So the oriental cross stitch is on the go again? Cool!

Just having a quiet Easter here. We were going to go on a day trip on Monday, but finances are non-existant, so we won't be going anywhere.

Joan's not well at the moment, so maybe we wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

Yes, I should take a pic of what it will look like and my progress and put it on the 'Our Homes' thread. It would probably be good incentive for me if I posted monthly pics.

I went to the doctors this morning. I have a virus which is acting like sinusitis on the right side of my face. My left eye is a bit scratchy, but I have like headache pain on the right side.

X, as I suspected, simply has strained her ankle and needs to let it rest and heal (not something this particular 11yo is very capable of doing).

I'm starting to feel better but I think we're staying home from church today. Dh is coming down with the same thing I've had.

So far J and X are fine. I'm hoping and praying they stay healthy.

I wonder if I've got the same thing. I have a constant headache, and the left side of my face aches all the time. I can feel my sinuses not liking all the pollens around from all the wattle trees in our neighbourhood.

Poor X. I know what I was like when I sprained my ankle. I wasn't good at sitting still either. At least it could be a time for her to catch up on some reading or something.

I've talked to several people who've had the same symptoms Trish, so it's possible.

Today is our catch up on the cleaning day. We've left the house all weekend (where I'd normally clean up on the first day) and it's looking a little beyond untidy.

We're well enough to go to work but I'm still on Clarinase, a nasal spray and lubricating eye drops.

All better now.

Today I'm off to a friend's book launch. She has edited a magazine for ten years and they're releasing a compilation of their 'Best Of...' stories.

Then, if I'm up to it, I've been invited to a workmate's house for dinner to celebrate another workmate getting married in a bit over a week.

I'm currently sitting around with plastic wrap all over my head. Dh has just finished putting henna all through my hair to deepen the natural colour a little.

We've also been working on a mirror for the inside of X's wardrobe and we're planning to put a platform over our bath (we use it maybe once every six months) so that it can be used as storage space rather than wasted space and we can get a lot of stuff of the vanity in the main bathroom so that it looks a little more inviting.

I've been missing the show, but I've been watching the dancers online and then watching the elimination show on Monday night.

I've been wanting Rhiannon to go for weeks.

Dh is off working today. I've got J outside cleaning up the backyard, X is vacuuming and I will clean the bathrooms and mop once she's finished.

We've got guests coming tomorrow after church and I'd like to think that the house had some semblence of order.

Yeah, must be. However, it'd be nice if you would pop in and say "hey" so we know you're okay.....

I'm doing fine, just not seeming to find very much time to get online during the week, and even the weekends lately have been pretty full.

We spent ANZAC day with a friend who was visiting her little boy who is in foster care. We actually made it to church on Sunday. Don't ask me what we did on Saturday, I think it may have included sleeping.

Dh was out of town early this week but is home again now.

And tonight we had X's parent/teacher interview - I feel bad as I messed up the dates and we missed J's ones. X's went extremely well, much praise for her writing talent. And her teacher asked after J (she was his teacher last year).

And then dh and I went shopping to put some bedding on layby. We went to Target because they had specials on, put two single bed underlays, a king size and two single size doonas on layby. Then we went to Pillow Talk because Target didn't have a queen size underlay and found that their prices were vastly cheaper so I re-laybyed all the stuff we'd laybyed at Target plus the queen underlay, and added in a throw (I'd been looking for a throw in that exact colour for months) and only spent $40 more, throw and queen underlay included, than I would have at Target.

I'll cancel the Target layby tomorrow. I'm only losing $2.50 for doing that and saving over $100 by buying the same things at Pillow Talk.

Work is going well. I survived Induction. Next week they're actually sending me to training for the actual position I'm working in... much more useful!
