I would like to suggest a "Singles over 45" folder. Anyone can post in it, but at least it's an area for older singles to hang out and talk about stuff that 20 year old really don't understand as well as we do.....(no insult intended....)

Thanks!

I'm going to toss in my 2-cents here.

What about the rest of us Singles who are too old for the Young Adults (20 somethings) and too young for you 40-somethings? Is it really necessary to have the separation? I mean this seriously. I just don't understand the need for the separation.

I am in my mid 30's. There are quite a few posters who are in their late 20's and early 30's. Why would we want to further fractionalize?

Please see the thread in Singles about 40 year old singles, and post your thoughts/debates/questions in there instead of in here. Thanks!

I have and I thought it was pertinent that the moderators who may/may not make changes know that not everyone believes this is a necessary change.

I wish that when soneone is quoted in a post, it would say what # post it was so you can go back and read it in its entirety. Sometimes in very long threads it is hard to find what post someone is referring to.

I wish that the "My Suscriptions" link had the little green arrow for newest posts like the "My Forums" link does.

I so agree, I'd like that too! I don't know how much time I have wasted trying to find a post I had just skimmed, then someone quoted it and I had to find it again.

If you got to 'Subscribed List' from 'My Forums' you'll get the lil green arrow... and you can also go to active topics from there too

I wish we had a 'Statement of Faith' link in our Forums Tools as we do with TOS... It's tucked away at the moment...

Maybe the rating system just came with the template of the board system thingy they're using, it's one of the first things people complained about. I don't even notice it.

I still just want less clicking and navigating...and the automatic subscription when I post thing.

I've also noticed things are bit...laxer. As far as I could tell, I was one of the most..."liberal" Xians on the old CW forum, and there's been a few posts, avatar and sigs on this new board that I raised an eyebrow at.

I come to CW to get away from all thing secular in my life, and now it seems they're seeping in here...

I'm automatically subbed to a thread when I post in it... had a bit of a hiccup last week (I think) when it wasn't working but it's been fine since...

Today has been the first time I've had to log in since the first week forums launched too...

I think a lot of that has to do with the c.com web site. (No offense to c.com folks!) To me, it seems like a lot of trolls, folks questioning faith, etc. would find christianity.com faster than they would have crosswalk.com just by nature of its name. That's my take on it, anyway.

Remember that you're certainly free to report anything you think is outside of the TOS. The TOS is pretty much the same, so if something seems fishy, go ahead and report it. Thanks!

I reported someone for something and it was dealt with... but I had to decide what kind of priority to give it... low, normal, high or urgent...

How are we meant to decide... I know hosties/mods do a great job and this was dealt with quickly but if I'm reporting something then there's a reason for it and I'd give it a higher priority than low or even normal... unless I was really unsure whether it was tos violation...

It's all very confusing... I'd much rather just report someone and have it dealt with by whatever mod was first to get the report... didn't much like the fact it was assigned to someone either... I know hosties/mods have certain threads, but if it's a problem then it should be dealt with by any mod...

And that was my first concern when I learned of the merger. CW was more of a haven for Christians, than a resource for Christianity in general.

I've actually reported twice since the merge, more than I ever did (which was zero!) in my 5+ years on CW, and I felt really weird doing it.

Sort of like.... if I'M the only with the problem, what's the world coming to??

I reported quite a few things on CW, but haven't seen anything here that I'd want to report. Interesting

The software assigns the reports to the mods - unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that. HOWEVER, many of the mods check ALL tickets on a regular basis, so if it's an urgent item, it'll get handled pretty quickly.

The urgency amount - well, just give it one. If it's something you consider quite urgent or severe, go ahead and label it as such. If you think it's a quesitonable call or something that doesn't have to be dealt with ASAP, give it a lower urgency. I personally rarely pay attention to the urgency but deal with them as I see them.

Hmmm. I just had a thought.

Wanna discuss some of this in the Q&A thread, then once it's discussed, if it's still a wish, it can come into this thread? I'm trying to figure out a way to cut the number of posts in here so Fritz doesn't have a fainting spell.

You might be right in your assumptions. I came from the C.Com forums and I reported TONS of times. I even filled out an app to be a mod. ( This forum is too large for me to want that for my life, now)
I have reported twice since the merge. Rest assured, you are not the only one doing the reporting and Fritz does an awesome job of responding quickly. *unless the incident is on the weekend, I have seen situations go until Monday.

Question, when it comes to avatars, are there guidelines available? I assumed, for example, a picture of me smoking a cigarette wouldn't be unacceptable. But, I also assumed pictures of celebrities, at least those known for non-Christ like behaviour, would also be unacceptable. Are the avatar rules a bit more lax than I was expecting?

Yeah! I saw one of Britney Spears!
