I wish the threads under "My Forums" showed me how many new messages there were since I last replied/subscribed.

I would like to see, when looking at someone's stats by their post, if they are on my buddy list or not. I can't remember who I added and who I didn't and, other than going through all 42 pages of the member list, I don't know how to figure out who I've missed. I'm thinking the address icon at the bottom of a post could change its appearance like it does in the member list if that person is on our buddy list.

I would like the position of two pieces of information reversed. It would be easier, especially with long posts, to have the "Reply, Quote, Find" links at the BOTTOM of the post because it's only after reading that you'll know whether you want to reply and it can be a pain to scroll back up to the top of the post if it's large when/if it could be right there at the end. And take the post number and put it at the top of the post where the reply link is currently.

It would be nice to have the forums toolbar near the bottom of the page as well as at the top.

I LOVE the pop-up window to notify me of new private messages. However, I DON'T like that when I click okay, the page I'm on moves to the inbox. I'd prefer it opened in a new window. Is it possible to have a choice on the pop-up window?

I agree with spunky-gal about the colour of the big cheesy grin. I want it back to it's normal colour.

And someone said they'd like our old smilies to be the ones that show on the posting window. I agree.

By the way, the pop-up windows for the smilies and colour are so PAINFULLY slow to load. Can that be changed?

Please get rid of the rating system. It feeds people's insecurities if they have low scores and their pride if they have high scores. I think it's a very unChristian concept. We should not be comparing our popularity with one another.

Oh! And I'd like the opening post to show at the top of each page.

I'd like to second this, only make a much stronger statement about the rating system --- it's ludicrous and ridiculous, and how it could be allowed on a "Christian" website is beyond me. It really smacks of worldly popularity contests which we can join anywhere on the web if we so desire. When I found CW I was looking for a Christian website I could feel comfortable in . . . I would have vacated immediately if I'd seen anything like this on CW. There. I've said it.

Also, if the My Forums route to getting your latest posts to your subs is the very best you can do for a message center, can't you at least get that silly OP out of the sub lists --- why anyone would want to be reminded of what the OP is in "new posts to their subs" is beyond me. If you simply cannot program it to put the first few lines of the new post in there, then my suggestion would be to save yourself some serious space and take out everything except the post title.

Also, no matter how my I "uncheck" the email box in My Subscriptions, and the 'notify me via e-mail when someone replies' box, it keeps defaulting to the checked position . . can that be fixed??? Who wants 50 emails a day clogging up their inbox??

Sorry if this sounds so negative, but this is a huge change from the CW I'd come to know and love . . . changes that affected it's best features, IMO.

I would like links to be more obvious. With the blue background the blue color link just disappears. They also aren't underlined which would help.

"One thing I realkly miss is having the notation, "Message 6 of 34". I have a harder time figuring out where in the scheme of things I am."

I concur. For those of us just interested in coming to read and reply, it's much quicker/easier to keep up when we know where we are.

"with the old forum, when I opened a topic I was interested in, it went right to the first unread post."

I figured out the yellow thingy, but it still takes more time than the old CW system.

"easier to read and use than all the other forums but now it's just like all the others and there may be some nice features to this but it's cumbersome. Just as well, this wont be nearly as tempting to spend so much time on."

Yes, yesterday and today I noticed it took much, much longer to get through reading and posting. Having to scroll back up top to get to my forums, waiting for that page, then having to read through and pick where to go next...

If the old CW system of just clicking on the same place and automatically being taken to the next thread with new messages could be restored, saving time, that would be awesome.

I agree with Maggie and Leah about the scoring system. There are going to be people who will be hurt by that, and I can't help asking: what's the point of having it?

I hadn't even noticed it - have read about it but still haven't noticed it.

My wish is that the login is there, a la old CW, so I don't have to click login and go to another screen. Just another little time saver.

Another one, could you please get rid of that "notify me via email when someone replies?"

Or switch it so you have to check it if you want email?

Because I (and many others, from what I've read) don't want any email notification.

Could you make that a profile option, rather than having to unclick it every time I post?

1. I miss my ding!
2. On each post, numbered "post # of #" so I know how big the thread is I'm reading.
3. Bookmarks, like CW had so in My Forums I can remember what I was reading.
4. Something like New Msgs in CW, so after reading one new post, I don't have to keep going back to My Forums for each new post.

Thanks

Fritz --- would it be possible to make a list of things from this wish list that you plan on at least trying to accomodate? That way we don't have to ask a gazillion times and/or know if our wish will be granted?

I second what Christine said and almost everything else that is suggested in this thread as well.

I have a stupid question for anyone that would like to answer it; you can send me a pm. What is this --->

It would be nice to be able to cut and paste into the message box, so we could type our message in our word processor program, spell check it, etc. and then paste it into the message box.

I keep forgetting that in order to quote someone, I have to scroll back up to the top of their post to click "quote". We used to have that button on the bottom of each post; makes more sense to hit "quote" then when you're done reading.

You know what I've noticed? If you highlight a portion of someone's post, then hit the "Reply" button - the portion you highlighted is automatically put in a quote block when the Reply window opens - you don't have to copy & paste it manually. I thought that was neat.

The inbox for private messages fills up too fast. I'd like the maximum size doubled or tripled (at least!). It's often a way of chatting with a friend while reading forums and it doesn't take too much of that to fill things up.

I would really really like to have ALL of the old smaces back! And in their original colors... I noticed this evening that the smiley with its tongue sticking out and the old winking smiley are gone!!

And please please please make them available in the box at the left... That pop-up loads SO slowly... and I just find it annoying to have to switch back and forth between windows.

I'm just so thrilled that we have an "edit" button, haven't come down off cloud nine to notice any problems.

The Forum Tools bar needs to be repeated at the bottom so you don't have to scroll back up to it, like the toolbar was in CW.
