A smiley that does raspberries.

Although it is probably best that we don't have one -- if I had used it when I was tempted, I would likely have gotten in really big trouble.

Not to sound like a grump, but, though I like the idea of new smilies, I don't really like the style of these new ones.

I notice there is a place to click to "Mark this forum read." But I don't see a place like that for individual threads, unless I am totally missing it. It would be nice to have, say, for example, in the game threads -- there can be 20-50 new posts in a thread in a day's time and it's not needful to read them all before posting, so being able to mark off the whole thread as read would be helpful and would keep you from going to old unread posts when you click on the link for unread posts. On most other threads I do recommend reading the whole thing before posting, but in some threads it isn't necessary.

While the Poll is active, you have 2 options: "Edit Poll" and "Strip Poll". The "Edit" option allows you to add questions (up to 10 total), delete questions or change them. You may also edit the number of votes for each question if necessary. If someone acccidentally votes for #2 instead of #3, you can change the results to reflect that.

The second option "Strip Poll" will erase everything and allow you start from scratch. If there's not an active poll in a thread that you started (either you started the thread without a poll, or a former poll has been stripped), if you edit the OP, there'll be an "Add Poll" option. This option is only available when you edit the OP. This option will allow you to start another poll.

Thus, we don't have a "Reset Poll" option like we used to, but we can still do it - the long way. :-)

Ben,
I do not have a "strip poll" available to me. I've noticed all the people who have told me to use that link are mods... (I like HOSTIES! better, too, btw) I don't think "strip poll" is available to the rest of us :)

I like the forum menu bar repeated on the bottom.
I like "New msgs"
I like Post # __ out of ___
I like the PMs in another window
I like spell check
I think there is nothing else that no one hasn't already said....

Fritz, you're awesome! You da man! You rock! We love you! We'll send you fudge.... well, eventually ;)

I think it's been mentioned, but if the "my forums" option was available at the bottom of the screen, to save time from having to scroll all the way back up, that'd be awesome.

could I add a place to please mark all subs as read? Especially since the new posts thing isn't working right.... but I still used that option under CW prefs

Can you make the green arrows in regular forums and "my forums" bigger at all? I just barely notice it right now.

I wish I knew how to do everything NOW....

This is all way too much fun... yes, it can be frustrating, but it's FUN frustrating!

And don't you get a great feeling of satisfaction when you figure something out huh huh?!

One other thing I miss from the old CW -- the info. people could put at the sides under their username. Some people had their real first name there, and I just realized mine wasn;t there. Some people I know by their usernames, some by their first names, so I'm still figuring out who's who.

Click on "My Profile" in the Forums Tool box at the top and update your profile.

My name is in my profile, but I don't see anyone's names on the sides of their posts under their username with where they are from and their post count and all. For instance, in the old CW, "Lisa" was listed under "Consecrated2God," "Barbara" was listed under "Wayfaring_Stranger," etc.

I, for one, don't want my "real" name listed.

I'd still like a quicker way to move through my subscribed threads - or at least add a link to "my forums" at the bottom of the page...

And having the OP seperate, on each page, a la CW would be handy.

And not having to unclick "notify" me every single time I post would be nice.

I go to my forums to the right column and click on 'latest post since last visit". It is a couple of extra steps but it works for me.

Darryl is your avator a kitty cat doing the back stroke?

On the old CW it was optional, just like putting where you were from. I put my first name in after a while (not at first), and I did have my location at first but then took it out as I didn't want that info. generally known. The "From" feature is here. but not the name.

This may have been mentioned: I really miss the New Msgs feature. There's too much navigating back and forth with the "My Forums" feature.

Also, ditto on changing the background color.

Yeah, white-out doesn't work as well with a blue background.

Now, me, I like the background color. Soothing. Not as stark as white.

I like it too, especially since it means I can post in PEACH without people having a hard time reading it.

However, those browsing on c.com have a hard time seeing it because they have the white b/g color.

Well it was but as usual my avator disappears and a monkeyboy appears.

I agree with lots of these- it would be nice to know how many might be "coming attractions" that they're working on.
1. I'd love to see post X of Y to know where I am in the scheme of the thread. Sometimes I don't read threads if I know they're very long.
2. I'd like to see the reply screen back at the bottom of the thread all the time.
3. I really really really really want the New Msgs link back at the top and bottom of the screen. I don't like that I have to click on the My Forums and LEAVE the main area to see what's new in the threads I'm subscribed to. Plus, every time I catch up on one thread, I have to go to the My Forums AGAIN to get to the next thread.
I think if they could JUST do #3, I'd be much happier about the whole thing, and more willing to wait for everything else.
I plan to totally ignore the entire ratings thing- I think its silly. The only reason I ever looked at anyone's post count on CW was if it sounded like the post might be from a newbie.

due tot eh nature of the topics, I'd really like it if Men Only and Women Only topics did NOT appear in the Recent Topics list.

Don't know if it'a any help to you... but I always right click on my lil green arrow (newest threads one) and chose 'open in a new window'.... then I deal with that thread and do the same with the next one...

Saves always going back to my forums because you always have that as your 'first' page... but that's kinda what I did at the old place when I didn't have much time (except I opened a whole stack of windows at once! )

Thank you for putting a link to "Posts Since Last Visit" on the MyForums page at the bottom of the latest threads list.
