I spoke here recently and I used mark 7:31-37 My topic was if Christ has done anything for you, It's hard not to tell it. I understand the text that Jesus did not want them to tell because of the conflicf it might cause him. but the bible say that the more he complelled them not to tell the more they told. Is my theology off buy using that thought for a sermon? I need some help please

Hi Benny, Jesus wants us to share what we know of Him. So the first answer is : No matter what anyone says about the passage, you have a good message, whether you preach it from this passage or from watching ants collect food. It is consistent with Lu 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. Both in the topic and as a demonstration of your heart in choosing it. Second, that's not a bad start from the passage. There are lots of topics that preachers choose to preach from this passage and yours is certainly one of them. Third, whenever we think we know all there is to know about a passage if we continue to meditate upon it and study His word, He will show us something new. So I am sure by the choice of your topic, God will continue to give you delight in His word. Keep preaching.

Benny, I understand what you're asking. Those times when Jesus healed and sent the men away telling them not to say anything...... and yet they did right away. I submit this verse. Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, "I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name." But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. I understand why Jesus wanted them to not say anything 'yet', and yet I understand the above verse, too. Good topic! How can we be silent and not shout of HIS goodness every day?
