Hey ya!

the lighthouse cafe is not a big place. It only seats about 40. But all the seats were filled with people standing as well. There was a liitle tension before we went on. Debbie (Mary Magdalene) was late and the guy sponsoring us kept insisting we had better start the show that people were getting restless. So Debbie arrives but she's out on the front porch yaking away on her cell phone and she still has to put on her custome, head gear, jewely, makeup, the works. So we exchange words about her being late and she gets mad at me saying I never treat chris like that and yell at him. well Chris is never late and debbie sometimes has a habit of being a last minute straggler. By the time we are ready to go on I am very nervous.

One always hopes that the performance will be as good as the dress rehearsal and it was. The actors all showed strong emotions, real tears etc. Chris and debbie looked great, real authentic as Christ and Magdalene. Some peiople were in tears at the end of the show. God blessed us despite all the tension before hand.

Most of the comments were very positive although my one friend said the narration was agonizing. LOL! The play is actually my story about the anointing being read with actors miming the parts. Only Chris speaks as Jesus. She said, "Jesus kept wiping his brow while the narration is telling us he's hot. We get it altready! It's a hot day!"

But see I REALLY want to audiance to get how Jesus feels. I want them to walk away with that. And I know that not everyone is going to love my art.

Well any way, as usual these weird feelings come over me which are difficult to expalin. Its sort of a feeling of oppression or fear...like I'm doing the wrong thing but even this does not adequately describe how I feel. I've learned over the years not to pay attention to my feelings. rehearsals, creating and blocking the show is much more fun.

I am pushing forward towards our next show on October 24th.

The sponsor of the show said he did wanted to sponsor the drama again. So that was good news.

Thanks! I just forund a mistake in my OP which made me laugh...

"Only Christ speaks as Jesus."

I hope so!

What I meant to say was "only Chris speaks as Jesus."

LOL!

Congrats, dear!! I'm glad the play went so well. :) But I wouldn't have Debbie back again, that's for sure. If she had pulled that stunt with my play director, she would have been kicked out of the play. She's pretty lucky she was allowed to be in the play. But I wouldn't have her back again, unless she can respect others and their time.
